🚨 Community Notice 🚨

The Friona Police Department has received information regarding a possible organized fighting event involving juveniles that may occur within the City of Friona.

At this time, we are working to verify the information. If such an event is taking place, the safety and well-being of our youth is our top priority. Organized fights can quickly lead to serious injuries and may result in criminal consequences for participants, organizers, and anyone who facilitates these activities.

We ask parents and guardians to speak with your children about the dangers of participating in or attending these events. Please know where your children are and who they are with.

If you have information regarding the location or organization of this possible event, please contact the Friona Police Department at 806-250-2711. If there is an immediate threat to someone’s safety or the event is actively occurring, call 911.

We appreciate our community’s continued support in helping keep Friona’s youth safe.

🚨 Parents and Guardians, we need your help.

Please remind your children to stay safe when riding electric scooters, bicycles, or when walking. Whenever possible, they should stay off the roadway and use sidewalks or other safe areas.

If they must travel on a street, please remind them to stay alert for vehicles and to obey all traffic laws. Taking a few moments to discuss safety with them can help prevent a serious accident.

If you observe any obvious traffic violations involving these individuals, please contact the Friona Police Department at 806-250-2711. Your assistance helps us keep our community safe.

Remind your child to be safe and do their best to stay off the roadway when on an electric scooter, bicycle or just simply walking. If they absolutely have to be on a street, tell them to look out for vehicles and they have to follow traffic law. Thank you in advance for your help!

They are from Ironwood investment group LLC out of Hereford and will be going door-to-door to offer their services to residence that are interested. They have filled out the permit paperwork and have a badge approved by the City of Friona.

🚨Important Notice to City of Friona Residents 🚨

With temperatures rapidly dropping and a winter storm approaching, the City of Friona wants to remind all residents that current weather conditions are unsafe for animals to be left outdoors. Exposure to extreme cold can cause serious harm or death to pets in a very short period of time.

All pet owners are strongly urged to bring their animals indoors during this time. Please be advised that any dogs found tied up outside in these conditions will be subject to citation.
If you observe a dog that is tied up for extended periods, or one that appears to be without adequate food, water, or shelter, please report it to the Friona Police Department at 806-250-2711. Reporting concerns helps ensure the safety and well-being of animals in our community.

Pets rely on us for protection and neglecting them during severe weather is not acceptable. The City of Friona appreciates the community’s cooperation in taking responsible action to keep animals safe and warm during this winter storm.

The City is closely monitoring an incoming snow storm expected to impact our area. Residents are urged to prepare now and use caution over the next several days.

• Check on elderly neighbors and those needing assistance
