🩺 Learning the Skills That Make a Difference!

Led by the fantastic Ms. Schneider, RN, BSN, our Health Science students are diving into the essential skills they’ll need to provide safe, compassionate patient care! Recently, students have been learning how to accurately measure vital signs and, today, they completed their first hands-on lab skill!

Students practiced:
🔹 Proper body mechanics
🔹 Passive range of motion
🔹 Positioning a patient in a supported side-lying position

It’s been a busy week of learning, practicing, and building confidence in the lab! 💙

🐾 Lookin’ good, Clark Cougars!

We’re excited to unveil the new Clark Middle School Cougars logo, designed right here at the CTEC by our Graphic Design & Illustration instructor!

To bring this logo to life, our Graphic Design & Illustration 2 students acted as our primary focus and feedback group. They provided critical analysis, creative ideas, and helped guide the direction of the graphic to shape the final product.

It’s always exciting to see student insights and collaboration make an impact in the real world, especially when it represents one of our own Frisco ISD campuses! Collaboration and mentorship at its best.

Our students are building the future... literally.

Our C3P0 students at the CTEC are being featured by Texas A&M University for their work developing virtual reality experiences for education through the VirtuHS program.

Opportunities like this are what make CTE so powerful. Our students are working alongside university experts, gaining real-world experience, exploring emerging technology, and discovering possibilities for their futures that extend far beyond the classroom.

These aren’t just projects. They’re experiences that can shape careers, inspire college choices, and change lives. We are incredibly proud of our C3P0 students and grateful to Texas A&M for investing in the next generation of innovators!

🏛️ Government bureaucracy: complicated? Absolutely. Impossible? Not for these students!

Our Survey of Government students are diving into the maze of departments, agencies, and government organizations, figuring out who does what, how it all connects, and why there are SO. MANY. AGENCIES.

They’re learning to navigate the complexity of government today so they’ll be ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

Look out, future. They’re coming for you! 🚀

Child Guidance students are taking an important step toward their future careers—earning their CPR certification before beginning their internships!

Our school nurse led a two-day CPR training to prepare students with the real-world skills they need to work safely and confidently with young children.

Starting next Monday, these students will begin internships at our Child Development Center partner sites. That means they aren’t just learning about the profession in a classroom, they’re putting their skills into practice in authentic work environments before they even graduate.

These CTEC internships give our students a valuable head start: experience, confidence, professional skills, and a chance to begin building their careers while their peers are still deciding what comes next.

We can’t wait to see where these experiences take them!

Learning From the Best!

Our students had the incredible opportunity to learn from Matthew Delaney, Director of Security Operations for the Texas Rangers.

Mr. Delaney shared valuable insight into what he looks for when hiring security personnel, giving students a real-world perspective on the skills, professionalism, and qualities that can make a candidate stand out. He also drew from his own experiences as a police officer to share lessons from a career dedicated to safety and security.

Experiences like this are invaluable. There is no substitute for learning directly from professionals who have spent years in the field. Guest speakers like Mr. Delaney give our students access to knowledge, wisdom, and real-world experiences that simply cannot be replicated in a textbook.

We are grateful to professionals who take the time to invest in the next generation and help our students see what a career in their field can truly look like.

Engineering + Creativity = A Great Start!

Our Engineering Design and Development seniors are already thinking like inventors!

They’ve tackled the Invention Game, combining unexpected problems and end users to create, sketch, and pitch original solutions. Yes, that includes a device to fight forest fires operated by toddlers!

They also took on Invention in a Bag, reimagining everyday objects with new functions and materials while making sure every idea was truly their own.

A few days in, and these future engineers are already thinking big, solving creatively, and having a blast doing it!

Building the Skills That Save Lives!

Our CNA students are developing the hands-on skills and professional habits they will rely on throughout their healthcare careers.

From proper handwashing and infection control to taking accurate blood pressures and learning how to collaborate as a team in patient care, every skill they practice today prepares them for the responsibility of caring for others tomorrow.

These aren't just classroom exercises. They're the foundation of safe, compassionate, and professional healthcare. Our future healthcare professionals are learning by doing at the CTEC!

**C3PO received two more honors!**

Two projects created by last year’s C3PO students, **Cosmo Quest** from Aerospace Engineering and **Electrostatics Simulator** from Engineering/Physics, were accepted for exhibition as part of the **2026 SIGGRAPH Faculty Submitted Student Work** exhibit in Los Angeles.

The **ACM SIGGRAPH Education Community** hosts this annual exhibition to showcase student work from projects and assignments created during the school year. A curated selection of images and videos from the 2026 exhibit was screened at the SIGGRAPH 2026 conference in Los Angeles.

The projects were supported by **Dr. Edgar Rojas** from Texas A&M University for submission to SIGGRAPH.

The **College Collaboration Club for Professional Opportunities (C3PO)** is a group of CTE Center students who create virtual reality experiences for K–12 classrooms, working directly with teacher-customers. Students are trained and supervised by **Dr. Edgar Rojas and Kylee Friedrichs from Texas A&M University** and **Forrest Medcalf from the CTE Center**. Through the program, students receive a full year of internship experience from Texas A&M University while developing real-world skills in virtual reality, computer graphics, collaboration, and professional project development.
