Summit County Preschool SCP is a non-profit childcare center located in Frisco, Colorado Cognitive development refers to the mind and how it works.

Our Curriculum
SCP staff use The Creative Curriculum and GOLD assessments for all age groups as a resource for all classrooms. Our curriculum goals focus on the skills, understanding, and attitudes young children need to develop. To learn more about The Creative Curriculum Gold, visit www.creativecurriculum.net.

Our Goals
• Social Development: Help children learn to get along with others, feel c

omfortable in group situations, trust their environment, communicate and cooperate with peers and adults and feel that they are part of a group. During the Preschool years, social development is about socialization, which is the process by which children learn the values and behaviors accepted by society. It is also about being a competent and confident person.
• Emotional Development: Help children discover and accept one’s self and feelings, experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control.
• Physical Development: Help children gain control of and use their bodies with confidence, increase coordination of large and small muscle groups, and develop eye-hand coordination. Physical development includes children’s gross (large muscle) and fine (small muscle) motor skills.
• Cognitive Development: Help children use their minds for communicating, problem-solving and reasoning, interacting with their environment, and organizing their knowledge base. It involves how children think, how they see their world, and how they use what they learn.

Reminder we are closed Friday and Monday.

Due to the ongoing snow accumulations and a Winter Storm Warning in effect through 6 AM Friday, we are taking steps to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and community members by calling a FULL CANCELLATION today, March 14, 2024 of all Summit County Schools. We made the decision after careful consideration of varying snow totals and conditions across Summit County and surrounding communities and in consideration of many of our staff that commute from various locations such as Georgetown, Leadville, Alma, Fairplay and Kremmling.

We understand that changes to our schedule impact your family's routine, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these winter weather conditions together. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, aligning with our commitment to providing a secure and engaging learning environment for all.
