🔥 LIVE FIRE TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥

Warren County Fire & Rescue will be conducting live fire training exercises on Saturday, August 15, in the 1300 block of Happy Creek Road.

As part of the training, firefighters will utilize an acquired structure to conduct realistic fire suppression exercises. Smoke and flames will be visible from the area throughout the training. This activity is planned and part of a controlled training environment.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the area. Fire apparatus and personnel will be operating along Happy Creek Road, and increased emergency vehicle activity should be expected.

These exercises provide our firefighters with valuable hands-on experience in realistic conditions while strengthening the skills necessary to safely and effectively serve our community!

We had Blast at Warren Co Fair this year! It was a great year for weather for the annual senior day! We really enjoyed the Howdy, Rowdy Senior fun! Thank you to Robbin Lloyd for inviting us again this year! We appreciate you!

Driving Health and Independence in 2026! 🚐💙

We are thrilled to share that in just the first half of 2026, the Seniors First WellTran program has provided an incredible 3,494 rides to and from medical appointments for our local seniors!

Reliable transportation is absolutely vital for accessing essential healthcare, and we are so proud to keep the older adults of the Northern Shenandoah Valley moving safely. A huge thank you to our dedicated drivers, staff, and community supporters for making these trips possible and helping us fulfill the mission of Seniors First, the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging.

❤️ Country Roads take me home…
Today our seniors enjoyed a scenic ride through on the South Side of Warren County! We began by visiting Shenandoah River State Park where The Cullers overlook gave us a perfect view of the bends of the Shenandoah River. We headed to Low Water Bridge, where I realized many had never seen since it had been reconstructed. We traveled down Bentonville Browntown Road to Gooney Manor Loop, where the rock walls, animals & farmland presented a peaceful countryside and a new outlook on the south side of Warren County! Along the way, I shared stories about how the area has changed over the years, making for a wonderful trip filled with laughter, my own youth experiences and the educational experiences about the county. On days like these remind us that sometimes the best adventures are found right here at home. ❤️

Join us for some fun with the library program Step It Up: Line Dancing! 🥾🤠

On July 14th from 6:15 -7:30 PM, we will lead the second beginner friendly class where we will teach you beginner moves and dances. Whether you've never line danced before or want to learn something new, this class is for you!

The Beginner class series will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from June to September.

Comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes are recommended.

Safety Tip from our friends at WCFR

🎆 Celebrate Safely This Fourth of July!

Whether you're firing up the grill, enjoying fireworks, or spending time with family and friends, take a few simple steps to make this Independence Day a safe one.

🚨 Smoke Alarm Safety
✔️ Test every smoke alarm before your celebrations begin.
✔️ Replace smoke alarms that are 10 years old or older.
✔️ Ensure smoke alarms are installed on every level of your home, inside every bedroom, and outside each sleeping area.

🍔 Grilling Safety
🔥 Keep grills at least 10 feet away from your home, deck, and anything that can burn.
🔥 Never leave a hot grill unattended.
🔥 Keep children and pets at least 3 feet from the grilling area.
🔥 If you're the grill master, skip the alcohol until the cooking is done. Stay alert while cooking to prevent fires and injuries.
🔥 Keep a fire extinguisher or garden hose nearby.

🎇 Fireworks Safety
🎆 The safest way to enjoy fireworks is by attending a public display.
🎆 If using legal consumer fireworks, follow all local laws and the manufacturer's instructions.
🎆 Alcohol and fireworks don't mix. Leave the lighting of fireworks to a sober, responsible adult.
🎆 Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby.
🎆 Never allow children to handle fireworks, including sparklers, which can burn at over 2,000°F.
🎆 Never relight a malfunctioning firework. Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it thoroughly with water before disposing of it.

The TRIAD expo drew a considerable crowd today, featuring guest speaker Shawn Smith, State Director of Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol. He delivered a very informative presentation on A.I. and methods to prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse! Many thanks to all of the volunteers who assisted today in making this a success! @
