MAY STAFF SPOTLIGHT: CELEBRATING OUR INCREDIBLE TEACHERS!

As the school year draws to a close, Warren County Public Schools is thrilled to announce our May Staff Spotlight: Every single teacher across our division!

While we usually highlight individual team members, this month we are shining the light on the entire teaching force in WCPS! You are the heartbeat of our community and architects of our students' futures.

Our teachers do so much more than follow a curriculum. Every day, they show up as:
-Mentors who provide guidance when things get tough.
-Innovators who find new ways to spark curiosity.
-Champions for every student who walks through their doors.

To the educators who stayed late to help a student, the ones who cheered the loudest at graduation, and the ones who inspired a lifelong love of learning—thank you.

Your impact doesn't end when the final bell rings this May. You have planted seeds of knowledge and confidence that will grow for decades to come!

MAY STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: CELEBRATING THE CLASS OF 2026!

Warren County Public Schools is incredibly proud to announce that our May Student Spotlights are the entire graduating classes of Skyline High School and Warren County High School!

This month, we aren’t just highlighting one or two individuals—we are honoring the collective resilience, talent, and hard work of every senior who prepared to walk across the stage. From the classrooms to the athletic fields, and from the stage to the community, the Class of 2026 has left an indelible mark on our schools.

To Our Graduates:
As you stand on the threshold of your next great adventure, remember that your education is a tool, but your character is your compass. The world ahead is vast and waiting for your unique contribution.

Our wish for you:
Be Bold: Don’t be afraid to take the path less traveled.
Be Kind: Success is sweetest when shared with others.
Be Limitless: Your diploma is not just a finish line; it is a launchpad.

Whether you are headed to a university, entering the workforce, joining the military, or pursuing technical training—know that your WCPS family is behind you every step of the way.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! Go out and make us proud!

The Gifted and Talented Showcase at Skyline Middle School highlighted the creativity and hard work of students in grades 6 through 8 as they presented projects to parents and community members. The showcase featured a wide variety of topics and hands-on learning experiences, including robotics, travel-themed displays, futuristic “Worlds of Tomorrow” concepts, comic strips inspired by the Revolutionary War novel Johnny Tremain, and classic science fair-style experiments. The event celebrated student innovation, research, and imagination while giving students an opportunity to share their learning with the community.

Last night, our annual Elementary Enrichment Showcase brought together our amazing community, and our 3rd-5th graders completely blew us away with their creativity, hard work, and passion.

Here is a look at what our brilliant students accomplished:
3rd Grade | Nature Experts: Our youngest innovators became experts on the special outdoor places in our own backyard. They dove deep into the importance of local wildlife and natural resources, teaching us all how to enjoy these beautiful spots while protecting them for years to come.

4th Grade | Community Storytellers: Stepping back in time, our 4th graders investigated local legacies by connecting people with historical places in our area. They brought history to life by building incredible 3D structures of these local landmarks!

5th Grade | Future Energy Innovators: Looking ahead, our 5th graders explored renewable energy. They collaborated on group models showing clean energy in action right here in our community and built impressive prototypes demonstrating how renewable energy works!

We are so incredibly proud of the teamwork, critical thinking, and presentation skills these students showed last night. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our young leaders!

We are thrilled to announce that Enoch Kennon has been selected to attend the prestigious Governor’s School for Visual & Performing Arts and Humanities at Radford University this summer!

Enoch will be representing WCHS as he dives deep into the study of percussion. This is an incredible achievement, as the Governor’s Schools have been recognizing Virginia's most talented and dedicated students since 1973.

What is Governor’s School? This program provides rising juniors and seniors with a dynamic, college-level learning experience that goes far beyond the traditional classroom. Supported by the Virginia Department of Education, it offers academically challenging and enriching programs in the arts and humanities, helping students push the boundaries of their craft.

We are so proud of Enoch for his hard work, talent, and commitment to musical excellence. We know he’s going to hit all the right notes at Radford this summer!

We are so proud to celebrate Tiffany Galvin as this month’s WCPS Staff Spotlight.

Tiffany is the definition of "serving with heart." Whether she’s building deep, empathetic connections with her students or stepping in to support her fellow teachers, her impact is felt in every corner of our school.

Check out why she was nominated:
Stepping Up: When a first-grade teacher needed medical leave, Tiffany transitioned into the classroom seamlessly, providing stability and care without missing a beat.

Breaking Barriers: To support a non-Spanish-speaking student, Tiffany uses visuals and hand signals—and she’s even taking the initiative to learn Spanish to build a stronger bond!

A Helping Hand: From running copies to covering classes, she does it all with humility and a smile.

True Connection: Tiffany has a unique gift for reaching students with behavioral challenges, seeing their potential, and helping them grow through patience and consistency.

Tiffany, thank you for your unwavering dedication, your professionalism, and the love you pour into our LFK family. We can’t wait to see the amazing things you’ll continue to achieve!

Thank you to Isaiah Wilt, postbaccalaureate research fellow at the National Institutes of Health, soon to be PhD student at Harvard University, for coming to speak with our biology class about his experience with virology research. As a former student from Warren County High School (Class of 2020), he shared "Coming from a rural town and a family without a background in science, even the smallest exposures to STEM had a meaningful impact on me." Thank you for the impact you had on our students today!
