Bittersweet Acres Bittersweet Acres is a family owned and operated farm located just West of Frostburg in Garrett County on Long Stretch. Saws are provided. No problem!

We take pride in trimming all of our Christmas Trees by hand. We like to say that, here at Bittersweet, your Christmas memories are always home grown! Choose and tag your tree now, or come closer to Christmas and cut it on the spot. Don't think you can manage cutting it on your own? We do that, too!

Because of the heavy amount of Christmas tree sales so far this season, we have a limited amount of trees left in the field. We will not close for the season as many of our loyal repeat customers will always find one that suits their needs.

We have had a lot of trees go to homes already. Yesterday we had a group come and take four trees. We have people who walk into the trees and after two minutes get in their car and leave because they couldn’t find anything. The trees cover two acres. There are tall ones, skinny ones, full ones with a hole that would be perfect for in a corner. It costs nothing to look. There is no pressure because we don’t follow you around. We’d love to see you here. Come look.

The remaining trees here at the farm are smaller and not as full as many trees have been cut and taken home. Feel free to come and look.

The response to our Christmas tree farm has been overwhelming. As many of the local choose and cut venues have gone out of the business and our location along I-68 has become more well known, we have been unable to keep up with demand for trees. For this reason, we have been forced to make the decision to remain closed for the upcoming 2019 season. The current trees are small and we hope that by not opening this year, we will be able to produce trees for the 2020 season. This has been a difficult decision but one that is necessary to have any hope for product in the future. Thank you from a very appreciative Geis family.
