We are thrilled to share that Bill Meagher, long-time businessman and partner in Garrett County, has been named our 2023 Greater Good Award recipient. Highly regarded by his peers, Bill was nominated for the award earlier this fall and was elected by a group of past Greater Good Award recipients to receive the award this year. Bill is a visionary, known for his support and wealth of knowledge to see others thrive. He is the epitome of our motto of "less fame, more gain," and we are so pleased to honor him this year. Congratulations Bill!

We also celebrated the passion and career of one of the region's greatest: Colleen Peterson. After decades of service to the community and to TGCC, we bid her a fond farewell to spend more time with family and in the great outdoors. Colleen served as TGCC's Executive Director from 2006 to 2011, and played a very significant role in the completion of the North/South Highway Corridor. Aside from her business and professional endeavors, Colleen has been a passionate colleague and steadfast friend. We congratulate her on her official retirement from TGCC and will miss her dearly! ✨

We are delighted to share that Timi Hadra, Partner at IBM and outgoing Chair of TGCC’s Executive Committee, has been named our 2022 Greater Good Award recipient. Nominated by her peers and elected by a group of past Greater Good Award recipients, Timi is thought of as a warm, smart, thoughtful, and business-minded leader. Her ability to keep the long-view in mind and stay focused through these unprecedented times, allowed the organization to emerge stronger and more impactful than ever. We are honored to have had Timi’s leadership for the last four years and look forward to working with her in her new role as the Chair of the Membership Development Committee. Congratulations Timi! We think you are the cat’s meow 😊

Additionally, we were thrilled to recognize Senator George Edwards with an Honorary TGCC membership for his over 40 years of unyielding service to the region. Senator Edwards retires from the Maryland State Senate in just a few short weeks, where he has tirelessly advocated on behalf of the region. Notably, his advocacy for the completion of US 219 between I-68 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset, Pennsylvania recently garnered a dedication to him of the Maryland portion of the corridor.

Please join us in honoring and thanking these two wonderful leaders for their bold leadership in the region!
