Duke Energyโs partnership with the City of Frostproof led to a wonderful opportunity to participate in Duke Energyโs Power of Giving, Rooted in Our Communities Campaign.
Josh Turner, Public Works Director, reached out to Tiffany Dale, Government and Community Relations Manager for South Central, inquiring about the possibility of having a few trees planted around town that had been taken out by storms. Tamron Fernandez and Mike Graham with the Vegetation Management team jumped on the project with their expertise, and the planning began.
After a site visit in Frostproof, the Wall Street Park was the perfect fit. Contributing to being โRooted in Our Communitiesโ allowed for the Vegetation Management team and Government and Community Relations to partner and leave a lasting impact in the
community. On August 11, 2026, Tamron Fernandez, Mike Graham, and Tiffany Dale joined many local elected officials and leaders in the community to plant magnolia trees in the park. Mayor, Mike Hutto, Vice Mayor, Leslie Brewer, Council Members: Austin
Gravely, Adam W. Greenway, Tashana True, Fire Chief Jerry Riner and other fire department members, Library Director Missy Hadden, State Representative Jon Albert, City Manager Nicole McDowell, Public Works Director Josh Turner, Duke Energy Florida Distribution Vegetation Management Manager Tamron Fernandez, Duke Energy Florida Lead Vegetation Management Program Manager Mike Graham, and Government and Community Relations Manager Tiffany Dale.
Duke Energy is appreciative of the partnership that is shared with the City of Frostproof, the leadership, and elected officials, and a wonderful morning was shared with many so
deeply rooted in the community.
