WICKED WEATHER POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND- this is the latest predictions from WKRG STORM TEAM for SATURDAY:

The main event will come Saturday afternoon and continue through the overnight hours. Currently, the SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has outlined a MODERATE RISK (Level 4 of 5) area which includes the vast majority of our viewing area. Isolated storms will begin developing around 1 PM Saturday afternoon as a warm front moves north.

These storms will be capable of producing all weather hazards. A few strong tornadoes are possible, along with wind gusts up to 70 mph and large hail. That initial threat will continue through 7pm. After that, a broken line of storms will move in from the west.

These will also carry a risk if isolated tornadoes, highs winds, and hail. That threat will continue Saturday night and should wrap up around 2-3 AM Sunday morning.

While not every community will see severe weather, the ingredients will be in place for some very robust storms by the second half of Saturday.

Weather Alert for tomorrow night (WKRG) – We are WEATHER ALERT for Fat Tuesday evening through early Wednesday as a line of storms will move through the News 5 area. Damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes are possible, and we will have strong wind gusts up to 40 mph outside of storms.
