Last week, members of the Fruitport Police Department and Fruitport Fire Department attended the 9th Annual North American Active Assailant Conference (NAAAC) in Troy, Michigan. NAAAC is the largest event in the world dedicated to active violence prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, bringing together law enforcement, fire, EMS, school personnel, and other public safety professionals.
The conference provides in-depth reviews of active violence incidents from across the United States and around the world, focusing on lessons learned and best practices for protecting our communities.
The training received at this conference directly supports the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement, fire personnel, and school staff to keep our students and community safe. Through continued training, planning, and collaboration, we remain committed to being prepared for emergencies and providing the best possible response when needed.
