Shutter bug? Attend Shutter Stories: An Introduction to Photo Composition!

September 17 at 5:30 in the BFF Used Bookstore and Activity Center in the Lakes Mall.

Photo composition is the fundamental visual language of photography. While camera settings dictate exposure, composition determines where the viewer looks, how they feel, and what
they take away from the image.

Unlike painting or sculpture, which build images from scratch, photography captures the fleeting intersection of time, light, and space, allowing the photographer to transform an ordinary, real-world moment into an unforgettable visual statement.

Fortunately, good photographic composition is not dependent upon the type or quality of your camera but focuses on the 2 sides of the Composition coin; Point of View and Perspective.

If you want to move from “taking a photograph” to “making a Photograph” mastery of Composition is the starting point.

48 kids. 48 free books. One very special day. ❤️📚

We set out today to honor Dolly Parton’s love of putting books into the hands of children — and our community showed up!

48 children chose a free book, and about 17 kids took on our Dino Hunt, too.

Thank you to every family who joined us. We loved seeing so many children leave Books For Friends with a new book in their hands. ❤️

The drone show was awesome especially with localized music and spectacular drone art of Smiley the Water Tower, etc.. A great big thank you to organizer Sue Halter who does this out of pure love for her community. Sue also is the creator and organizer of Dancing into Sunset Dance Party Fruitport Pomona Park.

PARKING
Need a parking spot?
Parking is available at Pomona Park. Additionally, if parking get tough, there is space available at the old Burger Crest, and the Lakeshore Trolley will be stopping at the next door at Norm's Ice Cream for anyone who wants a ride from there to Pomona Park for the evening. The trolley next stop is at Pomona Park, and takes about an hour to loop back around the lake and come back. Their schedule is on information table. Anyone who takes the trolley only has to pay once for the evening, NOT each time they board. Seniors board for only $1, and please see the website for other ages.
