Fryeburg Rescue is a non-profit organization providing Emergency Medical Service to the Maine towns of Fryeburg, Brownfield, Stow, & Lovell, and also, Chatham, New Hampshire. In addition to operating three ambulances, we maintain a boat for river and lake rescues and a side-by-side ATV equipped to safely carry and allow for patient care during wilderness rescue situations. Our service is inspected

and licensed by both the states of Maine and New Hampshire. All members are licensed by the State of Maine at levels including EMR (Emergency Medical Responder), EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), Advanced EMT and Paramedic. Some of our members are also Nationally Registered, as well as State of New Hampshire licensed providers as well. We maintain a duty crew 24/7, and many of our members continue to volunteer their time by responding to calls ahead of, or with the duty crew and staffing additional ambulances as needed.

Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and loved ones of Maine Game Warden Joshua Tibbetts.

Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is heartbroken to share that Game Warden Pilot Joshua Tibbetts died this morning in a plane crash in Avon, ME.

Game Warden Pilot Tibbetts served the people of Maine as a Maine Game Warden for 18 years, including the last three years as a pilot for Maine Warden Service. In that role, his specialized aviation work supported search and rescue, law enforcement, fisheries and wildlife conservation, and public safety across the state.

This is an incredibly difficult loss for his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Maine Warden Service. We ask the public to keep his loved ones, his fellow Game Wardens, and all those affected by this tragedy in their thoughts in the days ahead.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Department will cooperate fully with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

We are grateful for the emergency personnel who responded to the scene and for the support already being shown to the Maine Warden Service family.

2025 set a new record for call volume for Fryeburg Rescue. We responded to 1122 calls for service compared to 1079 the prior year. The majority of our calls, 610 were to Fryeburg followed by 261 calls to Brownfield, 131 calls to Lovell, 57 to Stow, and 16 to Chatham. The balance of our additional calls included mutual aid or calls for service to assist our neighboring towns and we responded to 47, most of these were to Bridgton and Hiram with Denmark, Porter, Sweden, and the Conways comprising the rest. We are extremely grateful to our skilled and dedicated patient care providers who frequently come in on their time off to cover multiple, simultaneous calls - the EMS version of the kids screaming and the phone ringing at the same time the dog needs to go out! As always, we thank you for your continued trust and support. Be well and stay warm.

Every year, Fryeburg Rescue quietly donates 25 Thanksgiving baskets with turkeys, filled with dinner staples to families within the 5 towns we cover. This year we understand that so many more people are in need and we have decided open this platform for you to privately message us here with a name, address and phone number for a family that could use an extra hand this season. This will be done on a first come, first served basis for families within our coverage area of Lovell, Stow, Fryeburg, Brownfield and Chatham. We will reach out to each family that will receive one prior to the 20th of this month for confirmation. We wish we could provide more but we always hope that it makes a difference for our community. We appreciate your continued support through the season's ahead.
