Do you know a CSUF student who is looking for an on-campus job? Whether it's your child, your grandchild, your neighbor's kid, or a student you know in your circle, we have a job opportunity for them to join our team as a Patrol Student Community Service Officer (CSO).
Our patrol CSOs play a critical role in supporting our patrol bureau and keeping the campus safe. All CSOs receive priority registration, the highest base pay of any on-campus student job, and valuable work experience.
As a member of our team, they will be responsible for:
- Conducting patrol area checks inside and outside campus buildings, parking structures, and lots to ensure safety and security
- Locking and securing campus facilities, including classrooms, offices, and other buildings
- Providing safety escorts for students, faculty, staff, and visitors upon request
- Assisting CSUF police officers with non-emergency tasks, such as traffic control, parking enforcement, or responding to minor incidents
- And more

0:00–0:08 Two Community Service Officers (CSOs) in light blue uniforms stand side by side on a grassy area on campus with palm trees and university buildings in the background. Both face the camera while speaking, occasionally smiling and making subtle hand gestures.
0:08–0:11 A CSO approaches a classroom door from the hallway, opens it, and looks inside as part of a building check. The camera angle shifts from behind the officer to a view into the classroom, showing rows of desks and chairs.
0:11–0:14 A white CSO patrol vehicle marked with California State University Police graphics drives along a campus roadway. The camera captures close-up and rear angles as the vehicle moves through campus.
0:14–0:19 The patrol vehicle is parked outside a campus building. A CSO exits the driver's seat and walks away from the vehicle toward the building entrance.
0:19–0:39 The video returns to the two CSOs standing together outdoors. They continue addressing the camera with friendly, confident expressions, occasionally nodding and gesturing while campus landscaping and palm trees remain visible behind them. The shots alternate slightly between wider and closer framing.
0:39–0:41 The video fades to a black end card displaying the California State University Police badge alongside text crediting the video to the CSUF Police Department Public Affairs and Community Outreach Bureau.
