Today marks one week away from Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5. As folks are educating themselves about everything on the ballot, we wanted to remind everyone where they can find factual information about Measure N and the facilities and maintenance projects for our 20 school campuses that serve over 11,500 students.

Measure N is a school bond measure on the November 5, 2024 ballot seeking voter authorization for Fullerton School District funding to make needed facility repairs, technology upgrades, and improvements to school sites. A “YES” vote approves funding for the District’s plan; a “NO” vote rejects the plan.

TWO WEEKS until ELECTION DAY, and you better believe is continuing to call and knock doors to explain the importance of a YES VOTE on Measure N to support Fullerton School District’s 20 elementary and junior high schools that serve over 11,500 students!

🗳️ Why should you 🫵 vote YES ON MEASURE N?

⭐️ Fullerton School District schools are reaching 60 to 70 years in age and are in need of corresponding repairs, upgrades, retrofitting, and modernization.
⭐️ We NEED community support to be able to have the funding to make our schools clean, safe learning spaces for our students and educators.
⭐️ We haven’t passed a bond since 2002, Measure CC, which will expire before Measure N would take effect.
⭐️The money generated through Measure N will stay local and is an investment in our Fullerton community that has a reputation for being a leader in education.
⭐️ If our community passes Measure N, it will help ensure that we can get matching funds from the State through Prop 2, which is poised to pass.
⭐️ For these and SO many other reasons, please VOTE YES ON MEASURE N!

It’s been a busy week for the Friends of Fullerton Elementary and Junior High School Yes on N crew! From a fundraising dinner to more phone banking, from delivering Yes on Measure N signs to more precinct walking to talk to community voters and a heckuva lot more in between, we remain steadfast in educating our community about the importance of a vote.

🗳️ Fullerton Elementary School District’s 20 school campuses are aging—many are 60-70+ old—making the increasing need for repairs a costly reality.
🗳️ We have not passed a bond since 2002, which was Measure CC. Measure CC will expire before Measure N’s annual tax would take effect.
🗳️ Measure N asks for an annual investment in our community’s elementary and middle schools of $30 per $100k of ASSESSED value of a property owner in Fullerton. *Assessed value = what a person originally bought the home for plus a small percentage each year since the property’s purchase. This is not the same amount as what the property owner could sell their home for at the current market rate.
🗳️ State and federal funding use funding models that do not enable local tax dollars to stay local. A school bond, however, keeps all of the taxpayer dollars in Fullerton.

Weekend walking because a is NEEDED to ensure our Fullerton Elementary and Junior High students have learning spaces and campuses that are safe, improved, and modernized. Fullerton School District’s campuses are reaching 60-70 years old and are in desperate need of repair. Measure N funds can only be spent on facilities improvements, and the investment in our local elementary and middle schools for taxpayers will be, on average, about $140 for the year.

From making calls to Fullerton community members to creating hand-written notes on postcards that will be going out to Fullerton residents, and from assembling Yes on Measure N yard signs to getting ready for continuing to walk through our local neighborhoods to tell folks more about our Need for Measure N, our amazing volunteers from the Fullerton School District have been so giving of their free time because a is SO IMPORTANT!

➡️ Our 20 school campuses, which are now reaching 60-70 years of age, need repairs to leaky roofs, broken electrical systems, shining sewage and plumbing, and that’s just naming a few of the incredibly long list.
➡️ Measure N funding can only be used for repairs, replacements, improvements, and upgrade to our school structures and classrooms.
➡️ The investment in Fullerton’s public elementary and junior high schools we are asking from our community will cost the average Fullerton property owner $12 per month, or about $140 for the year.
➡️ Fullerton School District has not passed a school bond since 2002, and we have no other funding we can use to make sure our students and educators have safe, clean, modern classrooms to ensure great teaching and learning.

Please join us in helping spread the word about the importance and the NEED for a Yes on Measure N this Election Day on November 5! 🙏🗳️✅
