Fulshear Branch Library - FBCL Fulshear Branch Library in Fulshear is one of 12 branches of Fort Bend County Libraries, a public library system in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Fort Bend County Libraries' Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library opened in May 1998, the third branch voted for in the 1989 bond election. The mission of Fort Bend County Libraries is to bring people, information and ideas together to enrich lives, expand minds, and strengthen our community. Come join us for our free Crafting Programs for Adults and Teens in September! We welcome all who want to try a craft! All skill levels are welcome!

✨ Art Antics: Drawing Basics is our drawing class! Supplies will be provided! It will take place on September 1, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm! Registration is required.

✨ Adult Coloring Hour is our coloring event! Come join us to grab a coloring sheet and just color! Supplies will be provided! This will take place on September 3, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm! Registration is not required.

✨Nifty Needlers is our crocheting, knitting, and sewing event! This will be on September 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm! No registration required.

✨Nifty Needlers is our crocheting, knitting, and sewing event! This will be on September 15, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm! No registration required.

✨Paper Project is our journaling and other papercraft event! Supplies will be provided! This will be on September 22, from 2:30 to 4:00 pm! No registration required.

Join us for story time this week (August 31, September 1 and 2) at the Fulshear Branch Library! We have several programs geared toward different age levels. This week's theme is Trip to the Zoo!

Pajama Night Story Time (for all ages) takes place on Mondays at 6 pm.

Toddler Time (for children 1-3 years old) takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:15 am and on Wednesdays at 11:15 am.

Preschool Story Time (for children 3-6 years old) is on Tuesdays at 11:15 am.

We hope to see you there!

Please note that space is limited, and all story-time programs require a free ticket for entry. Tickets are available 45 minutes before the program at the youth services desk.

All Fort Bend County Libraries will be closed on Sunday and Monday, September 6 and 7, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.

Regular hours resume on Tuesday, September 8.

ALA is heartbroken at the passing of country music legend, cultural icon, and champion of literacy Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s award-winning Imagination Library initiative, inspired by her father’s inability to read or write, has put hundreds of millions of free books into the hands of children across America and was considered by her to be one of her greatest achievements.

“We’re giving books to kids who wouldn’t have a chance to get them otherwise,” she told American Libraries in a 2018 interview. “A lot of people think this is just for poor children—it’s for all children. It’s important to get books into the hands of any child that we can.”

ALA was proud to confer Dolly with an honorary lifetime membership, the Association’s highest honor, in 2023 for her lasting impact on librarianship, libraries, and the communities they serve.

Dolly was also part of ALA’s Celebrity READ campaign, in which she holds a copy of 'The Little Engine That Could.'

“I’ve always related to that book because I’m the little engine that did!” she said.
