Andre Dickens I have some questions about this.

Why did you choose to issue a public letter over the TAD extension vote, rather than try to understand the commission’s position for its resolution?

Do you believe that Fulton County should continue to forgo tax dollars that it could use for ALL citizens of Fulton instead of just the city of Atlanta? Should the citizens of Fulton County not benefit from the investment they have put into the Atlanta TADs for the last 20-30 years? Have all the TADs been so successful as to justify their extension?

The TADs in Atlanta will extend far beyond any of our leadership in Atlanta or Fulton. Are there better ways to fund the NRI that Fulton County and Atlanta can partner in? Fulton County and City of Atlanta both have constitutional mandates for its citizens. Do you believe that Fulton County residents that are not city of Atlanta should have their taxes increased to fund more programs for the City of Atlanta?

There are solutions that we could reach together, but this is not how we should approach leadership. Respectful conversations are how we get things done. Sometimes, we may just disagree on the best path forward.

Fulton County is expanding healthcare access in South Fulton, investing in mental health and addiction for inmates, complying with a consent decree, as well as providing a myriad of other constitutional and non-constitutional services. There are limited resources. We must steward them appropriately and transparently.

As I said at the BoC meeting, a temporary development tool should not become a permanent subsidy. Let’s come to the table and come up with a better solution for everyone, instead of sending open letters to demonize others who may just not see the issues the same way you do.

TADs can work, but they have to be fair for all involved. I welcome a sit down meeting to discuss. We could be working together come January.

Fulton County Board of Commission responds to the city of Atlanta TAD Extension vote.

The city of Atlanta has voted to extend the current tax allocation districts at the property tax rate of the 1990’s.

Fulton County responded with a resolution. Here is my response to the resolution.

Partisanship… it’s not best for Fulton County. We need to unify, not further divide. The reality is that this race should not be about political parties. It should be about protecting taxpayers and ensuring Fulton County has strong, responsible leadership. Period.

This election presents a unique opportunity for all voters across Fulton County to come together around responsible leadership and fiscal stewardship.

Fulton County needs leadership that restores trust, operates with transparency, and answers to the people—not leadership indebted to political allies or comfortable wasting your hard-earned money.

It’s your money, not the government’s. As Chairman, I will steward it responsibly, not waste it. I will provide the oversight and transparency you deserve so you know exactly where your tax dollars are going. Government is accountable to citizens, not political insiders.

One thing is non-negotiable: Fulton County cannot afford leadership that will raise your taxes. No matter what a forensic investigation may uncover, the answer will not be higher taxes. The answer is accountability, restructuring, prioritization, and responsible stewardship of the resources we already have.

As you prepare to vote this November, do your homework. Educate yourself. Watch the full Fulton County Commission meeting from August 6, 2025—not just the clips or headlines. Watch the entire meeting and decide for yourself who you can trust to protect your tax dollars and move Fulton County forward.

In this race, the North and the South must unify. Democrats and Republicans must unify. We may not perfectly agree and that is okay… but right now it’s the system vs. the people and I stand with the people. 🇺🇸

I want to honor the current Fulton County Commission and current Chairman Robb Pitts, Chairman, Board of Commissioners of Fulton County for their hard work and dedication to keeping our tax rate the same for the last 7 years.

As we move into this new season we have a lot of work to do. It’s time to unify North and South Fulton along with the City of Atlanta. It’s time for partisanship to stop and leaders begin to reach across party lines and work together by listening to all ideas. I might not always agree, but I will always listen and work hard to do what is best! It’s time for accountability in this county.

I am here for public service! That is what these positions were originally created to do. To serve the people. I know this is a 70% democratic county, but what I would ask you is this… is what we’ve had for past decades actually working? No? Then consider something different for Fulton County!

It’s time for a better more unified Fulton County that is called to honesty, integrity and truth.

Fulton is the heart of Atlanta.

It is the largest county in Georgia by population & holds 15 different cities within its borders. Our county represents Atlanta’s superpower front & center, which is our people! Fulton residents are the most diverse citizens in Georgia, with many ethnicities, cultures, and perspectives represented.

One of the most surprising things I have learned while meeting with voters is that there is one solid constant everyone agrees on: most people do not know what the Fulton County Commissioner Chairman does!

As soon as I begin to run through all of the responsibilities & duties the Chairman oversees, everyone is shocked.

The Board of Commissioners that the Chairman oversees and stewards under an annual budget of $1.4 Billion dollars.

This position is not simply a placeholder role in the government where the decisions made do not affect you at home. Your vote will directly impact your everyday life in this county!
It is so important that you evaluate your vote not by Political Party, but by a candidate's integrity, honesty, morality, selflessness, & true belief in serving the people of Fulton & not their own political aspirations.

Over the last few months I’ve enjoyed being on the campaign trail, meeting the people and hearing from the residents in North and South Fulton.

I’ve spent hundreds of hours researching issues, reading documents, reviewing budgets and contracts, listening to commission meetings and meeting people to hear the concerns in Fulton County. I have covered a ton of ground and the campaign is just getting started!

The debates between the democratic candidates have been… interesting. We are days away from knowing who I will run against in this race. I’m active, engaged, listening and ready to do the work and fight to alongside you.
