📣 REMO is expanding our team of Certified Instructor Coordinators (CICs)!

We’re looking for CICs who are interested in serving as lead CICs for upcoming EMT courses in the Albany area.

Lead CICs are responsible for instruction and all course administration, helping ensure that each course runs smoothly from start to finish.

💰 Compensation: $5,000 per EMT original course

We are currently looking for CICs interested in teaching courses with the following schedules:

Weekend track
Two evenings per week
Daytime courses

We have opportunities for both Spring courses (beginning late January/early February) and Summer courses (beginning late May/early June).

BUILDING THE FUTURE: Critical Care Paramedic John MacMillan will help launch the new EMT program at Capital Region BOCES. The EMT program will be offered to high school students starting in September. During the year-long program, students will learn to assess, treat, and transport patients experiencing medical and traumatic emergencies while emphasizing teamwork, safety, communication and professionalism. ⚕⚕

The Department is sharing the information below about the Medical Aid in Dying program with EMS Agencies for situational awareness.

Effective August 5, 2026, Medical Aid in Dying is available to terminally ill New Yorkers with less than six months to live under Public Health Law Article 28-F. The law expands end-of-life options for terminally ill New York residents and affirms their right to make informed decisions to reduce suffering at the end of life.

New York State Department of Health

The NYS Medical Aid in Dying law, Article 28-F of the Public Health Law, allows terminally ill adults to obtain a prescription for medication which they can choose to self-administer to end their life. The law will take effect on August 5, 2026.
