From May 18 – May 31, the Fulton Police Department will be participating in the New York State “Buckle Up New York” enforcement campaign. Officers will be conducting increased patrols focused on seat belt compliance to help keep our roads safe.

🚓 Honoring Deputy Chief Brandon Lanning on His Retirement 🚓

The City of Fulton Police Department proudly announces the retirement of Deputy Chief Brandon Lanning, who has concluded an outstanding 20-year career of dedicated service to our community.

Deputy Chief Lanning has served in nearly every capacity within our department, bringing professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment to each role he held. Over the course of two decades, he served as:

Patrolman

Investigator

Patrol Sergeant

Criminal Investigations Commander

Patrol Lieutenant

Patrol Commander

Deputy Chief

His impact on the department and the community will be felt for years to come. Deputy Chief Lanning’s leadership, mentorship, and dedication have helped shape the next generation of officers and strengthened the department as a whole.

🚨 TRAVEL ADVISORY 🚨

The City of Fulton has issued a Travel Advisory effective now through January 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Due to heavy snowfall and blowing snow, road conditions are hazardous. If you must travel, please use extreme caution.

City DPW crews are working to clear streets, but the continued snowfall is making progress difficult. We also want to remind residents that on‑street parking is prohibited from 1:30 AM to 5:30 AM.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Oswego County, with an additional 24–36 inches of snow possible through early Saturday morning.

We will share updates as conditions change. Please stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel.
