β οΈ Severe Storms Likely β οΈ
Today has the potential to be one of the more active severe weather days weβve seen in a while.
The biggest concern is strong & damaging winds (some may be 70mph or higher) capable of bringing down trees and power lines, which could lead to blocked roads and power outages. Some storms may also produce large hail, heavy rain, and isolated tornadoes. Multiple rounds of storms are possible this afternoon and evening. While some thunderstorms are expected this morning, the severe storm risk is mainly between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
Before storms arrive:
- Turn on weather alerts.
- Charge phones and essential devices.
- Secure loose outdoor items.
- Know where youβll take shelter if a warning is issued.
Donβt wait until storms are overhead to make a plan. Stay tuned into your local media or other trusted source of weather information (like National Weather Service) throughout the day.
