From Sheriff Mitch Nabors:

On August 4, 2026, Agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, along with Deputies from the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department, responded to John Rankin Highway in Fulton, Mississippi, to serve a felony capias warrant on Brian Lee Harmon for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (methamphetamine).

Upon arrival, Agents attempted to make contact with Mr. Harmon. At that time, Mr. Harmon fled on foot toward the rear of the property while attempting to discard a quantity of suspected controlled substance. Agents and Deputies pursued Mr. Harmon and successfully took him into custody without further incident.
Based on the circumstances observed on scene, including Mr. Harmon’s attempt to discard suspected narcotics, Agents established probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the residence and surrounding property. An Honorable Itawamba County Justice Court Judge subsequently issued a search warrant for the property.

During the ex*****on of the search warrant, Agents and Deputies located a felonious amount of suspected methamphetamine, along with multiple fi****ms. While continuing the search, Agents also discovered numerous chemicals and materials consistent with the manufacture of explosive devices.

Due to the nature of these items, the Tupelo Bomb Squad and the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives (ATF) were requested to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, both agencies observed and identified precursor chemicals and materials consistent with a homemade explosive laboratory. ATF agents additionally located and identified homemade firearm suppressors.
Mr. Harmon was confirmed to have an active capias warrant for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance. As a result of this investigation, Mr. Harmon was charged with Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), enhanced due to the presence of fi****ms, as well as Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence. Honorable Itawamba County Justice Court Judge set Mr. Harmons bond at $200,000.

This investigation remains ongoing, Federal charges are pending. The Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department extends its appreciation to the Tupelo Bomb Squad and the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives for their assistance in this case.
