May the 4th Be With You! Here at Schmaling, our Star Wars friends have been enjoying this past weekend's Dutch Days festivities! Each are modeling costumes from different places in the Netherlands. Watto is rocking a traditional costume from the town of Volendam in the province of North Holland. Darth Vader is rocking a costume from Hindeloopen, a city in the province of Friesland. Luke Skywalker is sporting a traditional fisherman's costume from the town of Urk, in the Flevoland Province. Princess Leia is looking lovely in a traditional costume from Spakenburg, a village in the province of Utrecht. Stop by the Library all this week to check out a Star Wars book or movie or one of our many books related to Dutch Culture! Feel free to take a selfie with our Star Wars friends while you're at it!

Here's your Schmaling Library Did You Know? Fun Fact for Saturday! It's a timely one!

Make sure you join us for the Wooden Shoe Races at Dutch Days! Whether you're itching to get your feet in those klompen and try out your speed (and coordination) or you just want to watch the fun, these races are always a good time!!!!!!!

Mr. Bertram, we really wish you had approved that office way back when! However, we're very grateful to those who included the office in the plans for the 1989 addition! We couldn't get along without it!

Here's your Thursday Schmaling Library Did You Know? Fun Fact.

The book the librarian allegedly hid in the dumbwaiter was the novel, "To***co Road" by Erskine Caldwell. The actual book, while no longer in circulation, still lives in the library on the Hindeloopen shelf above the public computers on the main floor of the library!

Happy National Library Week! To celebrate the library this week, we'll be sharing some fun Did You Know? facts about our library all week long!

A representative of the Fulton Historical Society will be selling tickets for the Tour of Homes at the Schmaling Library from 1-4 pm on the following dates:
April 21
April 28
May 5
May 12

The Fulton Historical Society is hosting a fun home tour event right here in Fulton! Tour five unique homes—from historic charm to contemporary style—plus step inside the Martin House Museum and stop by the Drives Historical Building for refreshments during the tour.

Tickets are $15 (ages 12+), available by mail or Sundays in April from 2–4 PM at the Martin House museum. Come check out some beautiful local homes and a little Fulton history ✨🏡
