Congratulations to, Melissa Dews, our April Employee of the Month! Melissa was brings a wealth of knowledge across many areas of the institution from her 22 years of experience. Despite her long career, Melissa remains motivated to consistently go above and beyond in her role. She readily shares the expertise she has gained over her career. In addition to her regular caseload, Melissa frequently works overtime to assist custody on first shift, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment to the team. She manages these additional responsibilities while maintaining a positive a positive attitude and a supportive presence. Melissa's expertise, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help others truly sets her apart. She is a dependable team member whose contributions make a meaningful impact on both her colleagues and the institution as a whole.

Please join us in congratulating our Employee of the Month for March, Officer Badeaux. Officer Badeaux was nominated for her dedication to safety and security as well as her consistent effort to go above and beyond to help new staff. Most recently Officer Badeaux was assisting a new staff member to conduct a search of a resident's property. While reviewing their work, Officer Badeaux had a suspicion and picked up a book from the resident's property. During the examination of the book, it was found that there were multiple items of contraband hidden inside. Officer Badeaux's desire to teach new staff helped to keep contraband from returning to the resident population. This is just one of the numerous incidents that display why Officer Badeaux's is worthy of this nomination. Congratulations Officer Badeaux!

Lieutenant Zoellner's devotion and dedication to our FRDC family is admirable. He was nominated as someone deserving of the Warden's Coin of Excellence for consistently going above and beyond. Most recently, Lieutenant Zoellner assisted in a cell search that resulted in locating multiple items of contraband. His diligence in performing proper area searches helped eliminate the contraband from the institution. That behavior is a notable trait that makes Lieutenant Zoellner worth of this recognition.

Congratulations to Functional Unit Manager Nazu for receiving a Warden's Coin of Excellence. From the day that FUM Nazu has started here at FRDC, she has been someone that puts a smile on people's faces. She is very devoted to her team and her housing units. FUM Nazu cares and takes pride in her job. Anytime the Mailroom has important resident emails that need addressed, she takes care of them immediately. FUM Nazu is also someone that people can go to with any questions, and she will take the time to answer or explain the process and why. That behavior is the epitome of teamwork, an admirable trait that makes FUM Nazu worthy of this award.

Officer Ward's devotion and dedication to our FRDC family is admirable. He has recently received a Warden's Coin of Excellence for going above and beyond. While Officer Ward was conducting random area searches, he found a suspicious item and immediately contacted his supervisor. When the supervisor arrived, the item was deemed to be contraband. Officer Ward's thorough search efforts and observation skills assisted with the safety and security of the institution and staff. Great Job Officer Ward!

Officer Amy Byrd's devotion and dedication to our FRDC family is admirable. She was nominated as someone deserving of the Warden's Coin of Excellence for going above and beyond. On a daily basis, Officer Byrd stays highly professional in a stressful post, and in more than one instance, she has stopped contraband from entering the facility. In a highly fast paced position, Officer Byrd seamlessly completes her tasks, manages her post, and takes on other responsibilities to help her fellow officers up front.

Officer Robert Warden has been selected as FRDC’s Employee of the Year for 2025. Officer Warden was nominated by Captain Andrew Boudrie and selected as the Employee of the Month for October 2025. His outstanding efforts in the Armory have made him deserving of this award!

On a daily basis, Sergeant Gibbs puts her efforts towards improving herself as a leader and encouraging her teammates to do the same, creating a positive impact on the institutional culture and keeping our facility safe. Congratulations to Lieutenant Dreyer for receiving a Warden's Coin of Excellence. Over the past few months, he has been working hard on ensuring that the institutional search number continue to rise. He has also created a new training program on how to properly track our searches. His hard work and dedication have greatly improved the institutional search report numbers for all three shifts and continues to ensure the safety and security of our staff and the resident population.

Tequilla has been an exceptional contribution to the Reentry Center, playing a crucial role to ensure our residents receive the support and information they need. Tequilla has an important role in facilitating the successful reintegration of residents into the community by guiding them in securing meaningful employment and helping them access vital resources. Her tireless efforts ensure that each individual working with reentry transitioning from incarceration are equipped with the tools necessary for a successful reintegration into society. Her commitment to their success has significantly impacted the lives of the residents and strengthened community outreach efforts. Ms. Coats’ unwavering dedication and proactive approach truly make her deserving of this recognition!
