Join the City of Amsterdam Engineering Department! We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented professional to provide administrative and clerical support while helping keep daily office operations running smoothly.

📍 Position: Administrative Assistant – Engineering Aide
💲 Pay: $25.88/hour
🕒 Schedule: 40 hours/week | Monday – Friday

What you’ll do:
✔ Administrative and clerical support for the Engineering Department
✔ Coordinate day-to-day office activities
✔ Assist with permit tracking and project-related data entry
✔ Opportunity to learn technical functions and engineering software systems
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus 3 years of office clerical experience OR
• Associate Degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, Office Technology, or related field plus 1 year of office clerical experience

Investments like these will continue supporting revitalization efforts, strengthening local businesses, improving housing opportunities, and building on the positive momentum happening throughout the village.

Governor Hochul announced awards for a total of 14 transformational projects for the Mohawk Valley as part of two economic development programs: the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY Forward.
