The Fuquay-Varina Fire Department has been hosting the Driver Operator series at Station 4. Today, students learned about pump hydraulics and water supply.

While much of the district has hydrant coverage, there are rural areas that still require water to be transported. Understanding the process of establishing drop tanks and drafting water from them is essential for ensuring a continuous water supply to support operations.

It was a wonderful morning as we welcomed two groups to the station. Deputy Fire Marshal Sferrazza and Captain Page loved giving our young guests a tour of the trucks—there’s nothing like seeing their faces light up as they step into the bay!

Every visitor went home with a fire hat and sticker to remember their visit. Thank you for stopping by; we love meeting our community members, both big and small!
