Save the date, Holly Springs.

This week the Town Council will hold a workshop on Parks and Recreation priorities. Thursday July 26th at 6pm in the Holleman Room at town hall. The meeting will be open to the public.

One of the items discussed (among others) will be the $7.5-8M of unissued Parks bonds that the voters authorized in 2011. I've posted a graphic in the comments that shows what the other $12M of issued bonds was spent on. Last month, The Council asked for and received a 3 year extension from the Local Government Commission to issue the remaining bonds.

In order to prepare, I wanted to obtain some (unofficial) data on what P&R items residents view as a priority. Holding all things constant, what would you like to see in town related to Parks and Rec?

For this exercise let's assume that there is no tax implication to issuing the remaining bonds. Early indications had been that the town could absorb this, however, that will need to be analyzed and vetted out prior to any action on the unissued bonds.

Join the Southern Wake Republican Club tomorrow, Thursday, October 26 to meet candidates for local office. Candidates running for office in the towns of Apex, Holly Springs, and Fuquay-Varina will be there to meet citizens and answer any questions you might have. We will meet at the IHOP on HWY 55 (GB Alford Hwy) at 6:00pm for diner if you would like to join us and the meeting will start at 7:00pm. I hope to see you there.
