We can't wait to see everyone tonight in Downtown Fuquay for the last FM2FV Concert of the Spring Series with Heads Up Penny.

Just a heads up, the Handicap Parking has been moved for tonight's FM2FV Concert across Main Street to the Fidelity Bank Parking Lot. We will have signs to designate which spots are for handicap parking only. These spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Thank you to the Wake Audubon Society, South Wake Conservationists, and Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources staff for their work to remove invasive plants from Carroll Howard Johnson Environmental Education Park!

Six volunteers showed up at Carroll Howard Johnson Environmental Education Park in Fuquay-Varina on April 23 and hauled out more than a trailer-load of invasive plants -- Chinese Privet, Japanese Honeysuckle, and English Ivy cleared to give native habitat a fighting chance.

This is the second of six planned 2026 removal events at CHJEEP, and the sixth overall since Wake Audubon's Conservation Committee started working this site. Progress is real -- and so is the work left to do.

Fuquay-Varina Parks Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, along with the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center, are excited to be moving to a new and improved registration system called RecTrac!

Here's what you need to know:
Starting TODAY, you'll be able to create your new RecTrac account. (If you have made an account already with the Arts Center, you do not have to make a separate one for the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources, they will work across both).
The Fuquay-Varina Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department will be moving over to RecTrac for registrations on JUNE 1, 2026. All programs from June 1 on, will utilize RecTrac for registration.
