DEPUTIES ACQUITTED

Today in Dyer County Circuit Court, Judge Mark Hayes acquitted all four deputies of the charges against them - including Dyer County Deputy Lynn Waller.

These four deputies were among the other officers who apprehended an armed, violent suspect just minutes after he shot and killed a young lady in Shelby County.

We respect the court’s decision and appreciate the careful consideration Judge Hayes gave to this matter.

Our office remains committed to serving the citizens of Dyer County with integrity and professionalism.

The Gadsden Police Department is proud to announce and congratulate Mark Bordner on the successful completion of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Mark joined the Gadsden Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer. He had the ambitions of being a Full-Time Certified Officer. The opportunity was put in front of him, and Mark stepped up to the plate to prove he deserved and should be the first ever person that the Gadsden Police Department put through the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Mark, your dedication has not gone unnoticed from day one. We are proud to have you as part of our team. We look forward to what you bring and will continue to bring to the Gadsden Police Department and its Citizens.

Update: Dog has been returned to his owner.

This dog was running loose earlier today and was brought to Gadsden City Hall. If this is yours, please contact 731-741-1600 so that it can be returned to you before Crockett County Animal Control picks it up.
