As a Gadsden native + member of Gadsden Beautification Board since 2007, I didn't know either. Our board members were all surprised, too. So, this year...we're helping to fix that.
Mayor Craig Ford and City of Gadsden have created the app and begun process of fortifying these neighborhood gems. Gadsden Beautification Board has spearheaded a project we're calling 'Friends of Gadsden City Parks'. We began at Ninth Street Park North in East Gadsden, planted maple trees for future shade in honor of Earth Day with plans to repair or replace park benches. Anyone interested in helping, message us here.

HAPPY EARTH DAY! Gadsden Beautification Board with the Gadsden Chapter of AKA Sorority and Youth Leadership Initiative planted four trees in honor of Earth Day/Arbor Day in East Gadsden's Ninth Street Park North. It's our 3rd year to partner together with these wonderful groups, and the beginning of a new GBB effort to help resurrect city parks. We look forward to many more Arbor Day events, together.

Thank you to Gadsden Beautification Board members for their diligent service today at City of Gadsden annual 'City Cleanup Day'. Thanks to Mayor Craig Ford and all who helped organize this important event. Lets keep Gadsden clean and litter free! :)
