Last night, members from DMW, Corinth, and Twin Rivers participated in an open house/trick or treat event. Candy, hotdogs, and drinks were handed out to those who came. It was also a time to showcase the joint station that these fire departments created a few years ago. It wouldn’t have been possible without the community involvement. We are excited to serve the community with this station. Without this station insurance premiums would be higher, and many homes would not have the protection they deserve.

Thank you DMW and Corinth for the work and dedication into making this event possible.

Very important if there is a fire in your house. Study’s have shown this increases the likelihood you will escape, and will stop fire growth. This gives firefighters more time to extinguish the fire and save more of the property. Below is a picture of a closed bedroom door. Notice the damage outside of the room compared to the room where the door was closed on.

Yesterday 6/10/2022 at 1724 Twin Rivers was alerted to smoke in the area of 211. Caller stated he also heard an explosion. It took several minutes for crews to find the fire due to it being off the road. Engine 21 arrived with a fully involved skidder down a logging road. Engine 21 then requested resources from station 11 and 5. Engine 21 began fire attack and knocked down bull of the fire. Once more resources arrived we began foam operations to extinguish the tires.

Thank you to Corinth Fire Department, Asbury Fire Department, and SC forestry commission.

If you think this is something you would like to do or be apart of, we are accepting volunteers! We offer free training opportunities, tax incentives, and the satisfaction of serving your community. Feel free to send us a message to come by the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1830.
