Yesterday was a busy day of Fire Prevention with the Gaffney Fire Department! 🚒🔥

Your firefighters were out in the community participating in back-to-school activities and spreading important fire safety education!

Engine 141, Battalion 101, and Fire Marshal Jones attended the “Back to school Resource event” hosted by SC Department of Social Services at Rock Solid Community Church

Fire Marshal Jones also spent time with Cherokee County School District cafeteria staff, discussing the importance of commercial kitchen fire safety and helping staff prepare for a safe school year.

We’re proud to be out in our community educating, connecting, and helping keep our residents safe!

This week we welcomed four new Firefighters to the Gaffney Fire Department team. Over the last five days Firefighters Kameron Hess, Tyler Hicks , Dylan Blackwell and Cody White have worked 8am-5pm as part of the Firefighter probationary program. In this five days they have worked non stop on skills they will use as Gaffney Firefighters. All four gave 110% this week during the high temperatures .
I want to give a big THANK YOU to all of the shift personnel who helped this week ! You're the best !

Over the past two weeks your Gaffney City Firefighters have been training on Aerial Apparatus skills. Training was done at the City training ground and also buildings at Limestone University. Some of the skills were
Apparatus placement for rescue and for firefighting, spotting and familiarization in use of the remote control.

Congrats to Firefighter Edgar Loza on his completion of his probationary book and classes. This morning FF Loza made his way to the tip of L101 where his firefighter shield was placed for him to retrieve. FF Loza is a graduate of the Cleveland Community College Browns Emergency Training Center Firefighter Cadet Program.
