🚧 Jackson County Highway Department is Hiring! 🚧

We're looking for a Mechanic to join our team.

Job duties include:
Servicing trucks and equipment
Changing tires
Welding
Mechanical repairs

Hours:
Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM, with occasional overtime.

Starting pay: $20/hour

Benefits include:
TCRS Retirement
Insurance available
12 days PTO each year
Paid holidays

UPDATE June 3, 2026:

Roaring River Road is open. Continue to use caution at the slide area.

Road Closure – June 1, 2026

Roaring River Road is currently closed from the bottom of New Hope Road to the 5000 block due to a washout from heavy rainfall.

Our crews are working on repairs now. The road is expected to remain closed with a possible reopening on June 4, 2026.

Please use an alternate route and drive safely.
