On 08/29/2026 Jackson County EMA hosted its annual Touch-A-Truck event at JCHS for the community and we are beyond grateful for the turnout of agencies and our community that showed up for this event. We would like to thank everyone who participated: JCEMS, JCSO, JCRS, Dodson Branch FD, Central FD, West End FD, Granville FD, Flynn’s Lick FD, Gainesboro PD, THP, TWRA, TN State Parks, TDOT, TN Division of Forestry, JC Solid Waste, JC School System, National Guard, Jamie Dailey/ Dailey&Vincent, Billings Crane, Johnson’s Garage, Jet Vac, Brother’s Keepers MC, Air Evac, Life Force, TDOT, JC Hwy Dept., Sam & Pat Payne, Michael Robison and Leona the spider monkey from SPARTN Animal Sanctuary. Della Conn and Gibflo Farms for providing crafts and games. Michele McCollough for Photography. On Scene Emergency Services for sponsoring our bounce houses from Blue Water Equip. ***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

We are aware of a large mulch fire actively burning in the 4400 block of S. Grundy Quarles Highway. Fire crews have responded with assistance from the Tennessee Department of Forestry, who have used a dozer to cut a fire line around the affected area.

Due to the size of the mulch pile and the fire burning beneath the surface, crews are currently unable to effectively extinguish the fire. These types of fires can burn deep within a mulch pile and may continue to smolder for an extended period of time.

Rest assured, the fire is contained and is not going anywhere. Crews will continue to monitor the area and take action as needed.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while we work to safely manage the situation.

We will have concessions, games and prizes, arts and crafts, animal encounter with SPARTN Animal Sanctuary, Bounce House Sponsored by On Scene Emergency services, and so much more! Vehicles of all shapes and sizes including Motorcycles, military vehicles, Emergency vehicles, helicopters, a crane, and Jamie Dailey’s Tour Bus just to name a few!

Join us THIS coming Saturday, August 29th, from 11am-2pm for the Jackson County EMA Touch-A-Truck event at the Jackson County High School. Concessions will be available. We will also have games, bounce houses(sponsored by On Scene Emergency Services), arts and crafts (Della Conn and Gib-Flo Farms), and an animal encounter (SPARTN Animal Sanctuary)!

We also will have demonstrations by local emergency services.

AND most Importantly many vehicles of all shapes and sizes to see! Including multiple medical helicopters, emergency vehicles, National Guard vehicles, Mr. Jamie Dailey’s tour bus will be on display(outside only) and so much more!

The Jackson County EMA Touch-A-Truck is fast approaching! We are excited for August 29th! We have some exciting vehicles lined up including many emergency vehicles, Life Force Helicopter, The National Guard, Mr. Jamie Dailey’s Tour Bus(outside of bus only), and so much more!
