MY ANSWER TO THE HIT PIECE THAT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY PUT OUT ON ME.
I am posting my response here because I posted it on the Alachua Dem website, and they deleted it. I believe they did this because one person actually stated they would like to hear the ideas for solutions directly from the candidates, so I posted some of my platform ideas, and of course, they deleted it within an hour of me putting it up. The second time I went back and addressed the deletion and they left mine but deleted their own peoples post. Too much fun!!!!!! So, I will hold my true comments until after the election, but I will say that when deceit, lies, and cheating are part of your DNA, I can understand why you deleted posts so your people can't hear directly from the candidates.
Hit piece one Fisher Priorities:
Claim 1: "Getting all children out of our public schools".
TRUTH: This is such a blatant lie. If I wanted children out of the p***c schools, I would open a competing business instead of sacrificing a year of my life to run for the school board with the goal to trying to make the public schools better. Wouldn't I want to make them worse?
Claim 2: "Pushing faith leaders to form a cohesive crusade against public education".
TRUTH: I don't even know where to begin on this one. Again, blatantly false and I can't even imagine where they got this one. I have publicly said that there are community organizations that can help with the schools. Some of the ones I mentioned are Blossoms and Butterflies, SOAR, and Aces in Motion. Regarding churches, I do think there is value in pulling all resources to help out students be the best they can be. If my opponent believes in withholding resources at the expense of helping our kids then that is her prerogative. I believe we need to muster all resources available to help us close both the learning and the achievement gaps.
Claim 3: Defunding state and local public schools programs and abolishing the federal Department of Education.
TRUTH: I have said from the beginning that we need to ensure our new superintendent understands school finance at both the state and federal level so that they can bring all available funds to the district. Also, I have stated from the beginning, that this is a local race which means I am focused on what I can control. I do not have control over the Fed Dept of Education so I have never addressed the issue.
Overall claim that I am being supported by the John Burch Society.
TRUTH: While it is true Tim Marden is employed by JBS, I have taken no money from JBS and I am not endorsed by JBS. Tim started working with me at the beginning to help me set up a campaign. Over time, we have became friends and he continues to help me as this is my first journey into running a campaign. My expertise, up to this point, has been leadership and management, so Tim has been tremendously helpful in teaching me how to run a campaign that has gotten our message out to as many voters as possible.
Now my commentary: I have been asked by all types of democratic operatives, in a number of different ways, to tell them who I voted for on a state and federal level. I have decline that each time, because I am not running for a state or a federal office. I have offered to meet with anyone who would like to discuss issues that the school board can address.
