Supervisor Stewart joined community partners at the Rally and Food Drive this weekend to help raise awareness about food insecurity in our area and the importance of looking out for one another.

During his remarks, Supervisor Stewart encouraged residents to check on their neighbors, friends, and families because sometimes the people struggling most are the ones who ask for help the least.

That message aligns with a call to action from the Capital Area Food Bank to fill gaps of food insecurity in the Gainesville District, and we are answering that call.

Beginning this August, the Gainesville District Supervisor’s Office will partner with the Capital Area Food Bank to bring a monthly Mobile Market directly into areas of need within our district, helping improve access to fresh, nutritious food for residents and families. We are excited to launch our first Mobile Market in partnership with the Haymarket Town Hall. More details on dates, locations, and fresh produce distribution will be announced very soon.

In addition to expanding access to fresh food, we are also asking our community to help neighbors in need. Residents who would like to support these efforts can donate shelf-stable staple foods. When donating, please think about building balanced shelf stable meals by including items from multiple food groups, especially proteins, vegetables, fruits, and grains. Every donation helps.

For those who would like to support food insecurity efforts locally, donations may be dropped off at the Gainesville District Supervisor’s Office. Together, we can help ensure our neighbors have access to the food and support they need.

Food insecurity is often hidden, but community care makes a difference. Stay tuned for more information about our upcoming Mobile Market and ways you too can get involved.

Congratulations to My Cravingz!

It was a pleasure to join Delegate Josh Thomas in recognizing My My Cravingz with a Virginia House of Delegates Commending Resolution celebrating five years of serving the Prince William County community.

What began as a small family baking operation grew into a beloved gathering place on Sudley Road, bringing people together through food, culture, and community. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, My Cravingz continued to thrive thanks to its dedication to excellence and the support of loyal customers throughout the region.

Congratulations to founder Leyla Yildizci and the entire My Cravingz team on this well-deserved honor. We are grateful for the positive impact you have made in our community and wish you continued success for many years to come.

Had a great time visiting the Railway Festival with my daughter this today!

One of the things I enjoy most about living and serving in the Gainesville District is how connected we are to the surrounding communities. The City of Manassas is right in our backyard, and events like the Railway Festival give families from across the area an opportunity to come together, learn about local history, and create lasting memories. What a great time we had.
