49 years of service to Prince William County. That is an incredible legacy.

Congratulations to Assistant Chief & Fire Marshal Matt Smolsky on his well-deserved retirement. Thank you for nearly five decades of dedication, leadership, and service to our residents, our first responders, and our entire community.

🚧 Upcoming Infrastructure Work

Residents along Lafayette Avenue and King George Drive should be aware of upcoming construction associated with UOSA’s Yorkshire Park Interceptor Upgrade Project.

Beginning this fall, UOSA will be replacing and upgrading portions of the sewer system serving the Flat Branch Pump Station. The project is designed to increase capacity and improve the long-term reliability of the wastewater system.

What nearby residents should know:

* Construction traffic will use Sudley Manor Drive, Lafayette Avenue and King George Drive to access the pump station.
* Construction traffic will be limited to Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
* Residents should expect intermittent construction vehicles in the area and use additional caution.
* UOSA has stated it will work to mitigate community concerns related to construction traffic.

This is a significant infrastructure project, so we wanted to make sure residents who may be impacted have the information well in advance.

Supervisor George Stewart was pleased to attend today’s ribbon cutting at Heathcote Village by Del Webb in Haymarket, a 55+ active-adult community right here in the Gainesville District.

We had the opportunity to tour three of the condo options, see the community firsthand, and learn more about the different housing choices available for adults 55+.

Congratulations to Del Webb and everyone who helped bring this community and today’s celebration together!

See something suspicious? Report it.

One of the best things residents can do to help keep their neighborhood safe is to know what to report, how to report it, and who to call.

If you are seeing activity in your neighborhood that seems suspicious, don’t assume someone else has already reported it. Law enforcement can only respond to what they know about.

And reporting matters for another reason: it creates data. That data helps identify patterns, recurring concerns, problem areas, and where resources may be needed.

The goal isn’t to report every unfamiliar person or vehicle. It’s to pay attention to behavior and circumstances and give accurate information about what you are actually seeing.
