We serve fresh fruits daily. Fruits are great sources of vitamins and minerals that keep eyes, skin, teeth and gums healthy and boost energy level quickly. They are also excellent sources of fibers and antioxidants to help lower risks for cancer. Everyone has heard Breakfast is the most important me
al of the day. Students who eat breakfast can expect to feel better, focus and are ready to learn each morning. Our lunches offer fresh salad meal and other vegetables everyday. Vegetables also provide chockfull of vitamins and minerals, low in calories but full of fiber and antioxidants that keep hearts healthy. We serve many whole grain foods that are rich in fiber that helps digestion and prevent heart disease. Minerals and Vitamin B complex in whole grains help building bones and release energy from muscles. We offer the healthiest beverage choices: water, 1% low-fat, ½% and fat free milk and 100% fruit juices. Adequate fluid intake is a must for all body organs to work properly. Water is calorie free. Milk is one of the best sources of calcium that is critical for bone growth. Fruit juices provide most of Vitamin C needed to help keep skin and gum healthy. Our school meals include good amount of protein: entrees of meats (beef, pork, poultry) or meat alternates such as beans rich in protein and iron are served daily. No deep fried foods are served; only baked. These low fat entrees full of nutrients help build muscles and help make red blood cells for all body organs to function properly for healthy living
