SHOT AT TIPSY’S: Waking up to a foggy morning after a brawl at Tipsy’s Bar & Grill, just off Edgewood Avenue in Jacksonville, ends with multiple people shot including security.

It all began at 3:30am (All night establishments must close at 2:00am) when a fight broke out between several. As security stepped in to subdue a fighter, he pulled out a gun, fired shots, striking one female in the leg, a male in the back and one male in the buttocks, who were attempting to flee.

Several JSO Officers who were assigned as off-duty officers outside, responded inside and subdued the suspect, ordering him on the ground. It’s unclear how a handgun made it inside as it’s described partygoers are searched entering said establishment (Although the Florida Concealment Law has changed, pistol totters can’t bring a gun into an establishment that serves alcohol).

The parking lot was loaded with patrons and nightly parking lot watchers but as the gunshots rang out, nobody remained and fled the area.

Note: There was a shooting at this establishment in Octoberer 2025, where two people were also SHOT.

As we look back on 2025, I want to take a moment to express my most sincere appreciation to all of all our clients and partners. The strength of our agency is a direct reflection of the support, trust, and partnership we share with our community. Because of that relationship, Knights Security of Gainesville Public Safety continues to experience a suppressed damage to client properties while maintaining a safe,
relationship with our residents.

All through the year, the men and women of Knights Security of Gainesville Public Safety Agency remains committed and vigilant to fair, professional, and compassionate
service. We continue to focus on positive engagement, proactive problem-solving, and building meaningful relationships with our residents and Clients, businesses, and community partners. These efforts are essential to Security/Public Safety and to the quality of safer we all value.

We acknowledge that his absence is deeply felt, as he was an extraordinary and remarkable young man with a strong spiritual presence to his family.
