🚌 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY STARTS WITH YOU! 🚌

As our kids head back to school, let’s all do our part to keep them safe.

Remember, school buses don’t just stop near schools. They can stop anywhere children need to get on or off.

A few extra seconds of patience and caution can make a lifetime of difference.

Let’s keep our kids safe on the road and on their way home.

Every choice you make behind the wheel matters.

Driving under the influence puts your life, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk. Even one drink can impair your judgment, slow your reaction time, and increase the likelihood of a crash.

Before you head out to drink:
Choose a designated driver.
Use a rideshare or call a friend.
If you're drinking, don't drive.
If you see someone who shouldn't be driving, help them find a safe ride home.

The Cooke County Sheriff's Office is committed to keeping our roads safe.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. It's not just a slogan it's a commitment to protecting lives.

Many newer vehicles use smart keys that communicate with your vehicle using a wireless signal. Unfortunately, thieves can use relay devices to amplify that signal, allowing them to unlock or even start your vehicle without ever touching your key.

The good news? One simple habit can help reduce your risk.

*Store your key fob away from exterior doors and windows when you're at home.
* Consider using a Faraday pouch to block the signal.
*Park in a garage or well-lit area whenever possible.

A few small changes can make a big difference in protecting your vehicle.

If you notice suspicious activity in your neighborhood, report it to the Cooke County Sheriff's Office. (940) 665-3471 ext. 4
