Nature Operations, Gainesville, Fl Nature Operations Division is a part of The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affair Living History Farm Hours: Tues.–Sat., 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Park Hours: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm daily (Nov–Apr);
8:00 am – 8:00 pm daily (May–Oct). Please note, as part of Nature Operations’ land management practices, when prescribed burns take place, the park may be closed. Please check the web site or call 352-334-3326 for updates. Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

We are very sorry, but the Barnyard Buddies program at Morningside Nature Center for today, Wednesday January 24th is CANCELLED because a prescribed fire is being conducted at the park! Prescribed fire is very important for the health of the ecosystem at Morningside, but unfortunately we often have short notice of when they will be performed because the activity is very weather-dependent. Please join us next Wednesday at 3:00 PM on the Morningside Living History Farm to meet and help feed all of your favorite farm animals!

Give your holiday pumpkins a second life as pig produce at Morningside Nature Center! We love to get donations of Jack-o-lantern's after Halloween, we can cut them up and freeze them for piggy treats all winter! Please give any donated produce to our staff or volunteers and not directly to the animals! Morningside Nature Center is located at 3540 East University Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32641. The Farm hours are 9-4:30, Monday-Saturday (closed Sunday).

In September we had the absolute pleasure of hosting members of the Mirror Image Leadership Academy and introducing them to life in the 1800’s at Living History Farm at Morningside Nature Center! This great program believes ‘Through local, national, and international experiences, we show young men a world of possibilities. This inspires them to think about who they are and who they are created to be.’ Thank you so much for such a fun day!
