WEATHER SIRENS SYSTEM TEST SET FOR FEBRUARY 11

An audible test for Hall County's severe weather warning system will sound at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. This will only be a test, and the sirens will sound for approximately three minutes.

The weather sirens are tested using the wail alert tone once every three months. Other than these previously announced tests, all sirens should be considered to be an actual tornado warning. The upcoming test will be canceled in the event of a legitimate severe weather threat.

"Hall County has severe weather threats, including tornadoes, during each month of the year," Director of Hall County Emergency Management Zach Brackett said. "Preparing for these threats before they happen allows for peace of mind and a safe approach to severe weather, and I encourage all Hall County residents to sign up for our Citizenโ€™s Alert System to receive potentially life-saving notifications about severe weather in a timely fashion."

For more information about severe weather preparedness and to sign up for Citizen Alerts, visit Hall County EMA online, or contact the department at [email protected].
