Today, we honor 250 years of the United States Marine Corps—250 years of ordinary men and women choosing to stand for something greater than themselves. To every Marine in our community, from the newest poolee to the oldest warrior who still carries the spirit in their chest—you are seen, respected, and appreciated.

The Marine Corps was never about being perfect. It’s about answering the call when others hesitate. It’s about stepping forward when the moment is heavy. It’s about looking fear, uncertainty, and hardship in the eyes and saying, “I’m built for this.”

Every Marine’s story is different—but the thread that ties us all together is the willingness to serve with courage, discipline, and unshakeable purpose. And that spirit does not fade. It becomes part of who you are, and it echoes in your family, your workplace, and your community.

To those watching from the outside—those wondering if they’re capable, if they’re ready, if they have what it takes—remember this:
No Marine began as a Marine.
They became one by stepping forward.

If you’ve ever felt that pull in your chest—the desire to be tested, to be sharpened, to be transformed—that is your sign. Come talk with us. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just truth, mentorship, and the opportunity to see what you’re made of.

To my fellow Marines—past, present, and those earning their place—
Happy 250th Birthday.
Stand tall today. You carry a legacy written in sacrifice, courage, and honor.

“Once a Marine, Always a Marine.”
Semper Fidelis.

Building Homes 🏠

Today, Recruiting Sub Station Gainesville conducted its monthly Pool Function by giving back to the community with Habitat for Humanity of Hall County.

Their mission is, "Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Hall County brings people together to build homes, communities and hope." Crazy fact is the Building Contractor for this organization is a Marine who served from 2000-2004 👀

We are extremely thankful for this opportunity to help give back to the community and looking forward to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Hall County in the near future.

From the Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station Atlanta, Major Gray;

Commitment

We preach commitment as one of our core values. But what truly is commitment?

says that commitment is
"staying true to what we said we would do long after the mood we said it in has left."

What if you set out to accomplish a goal with the
understanding that it would take a specific amount of time under specific conditions, only to have your circumstances completely change in the middle of that pursuit? Many people would throw in the towel, saying that the deck was stacked against them, they gave it their best but it just wasn't in the cards. And people would sympathize, saying that it happens, even to the best of them.

That is our subconscious justifying coming up short. Sometimes it is truly just not in the cards, but many times our inner voice justifies away any remaining opportunity, allowing us to "bow out gracefully."

What of that remaining opportunity? Once you accept your current condition as fate, any remaining opportunity is gone. On the contrary, accepting your current situation as just that, and instead focusing on that which you can control -your response to adversity -allows you to maintain focus on the opportunity that remains, or reorient on any new opportunities.

Private First Class Jackson shipped to recruit training on 7 November 2021. He was dropped after contracting COVID and pneumonia, subsequently picking back up in training after he recovered. A short while later, a dislocated shoulder and torn bicep took him out of the fight yet again. This time, he required surgery. When I met him he said to me, "I knew I was going to succeed even before I had surgery."He stayed committed to his goal, and 249 days after setting foot on the famed yellow footprints, he walked across Peatross Parade Deck on 22 July 2022 as a United States Marine.

What is commitment? Christopher Jackson is
commitment.

249 days.

Private First Class Jackson was at Parris Island for longer than the expected time. He was injured during recruit training and required surgery. The Marine Corps medical staff completed the procedure and he then was in physical therapy for some time. Upon healing he picked right back where he left at.

DEDICATION and COMMITMENT is an understatement of the character of this young man. For 249 days he could have gave up. He never lost hope and his vision of the mission at hand of becoming a United States Marine. I am so proud of him and I know he's going to be a great Marine.

If it was easy, everybody would do it. The rest join the Army.
