Congratulations, to all the wineries which made the editors list. Keep in mind, there are many, many other Northern Virginia wineries which may suit your patate even better. This looks like a new winery option to explore when visiting Charlottesville area in Foothills Winery in D**e, Virginia.

Anyone have the opportunity to explore, or willing to share tasting notes on their production??

Ken Melville didn’t intend to buy a winery when he attended the auction of the land where the tasting room for the former Autumn Hill Vineyards is situated in D**e.

Continuing on our Virginia Wine adventure, our next exploration lead us to Breaux Winery nestled in the hillside. Breaux is a 400+ acre estate of 104 planted acres. With 17 different grape varieties planted the winery has a wine for just about any wine lover! The fruits, and favors are plentiful in the fields, and tasting rooms at Breaux. We happen to have continuous opportunities to explore the Wine Club spaces which the winery has to offer that includes the pleasure of educational, fun loving conversation with tasting consultants, Kevin & Silvia Miller. The winery has seating options for many, or few, inside, or out that offer views of the Blue Ridge Mountains for miles.

Be sure to check out Breaux Winey at 36888 Breaux Vineyards Lane, Purcellville when visiting the Loudoun Wine Country. You should be able to found a wine for everyone in your party, or every occasion!!

The beauty of this first Saturday in October continued as we arrived at Bluemont Vineyards situated on the first ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The tasting room, and patio are situated 951 feet above sea level so the view is breath taking as we enjoyed the self guided wine flight selections of either Signature or Seasonal flights. The flights were enhanced by the small bite options of shareable dips, flatbreads, or desserts all prepared by the kitchen. And, of course, glasses are available, and bottles to consume, or go!!

Reservations are recommended, or you may take your chance that space is available for your tour, and visit of Bluemont Vineyards located 18755 Foggy Bottom Road, Bluemont, VA 20135.

Continuing the tour of Loudoun County the first Saturday of October, we moved down the road to spend time revisiting Otium Cellars located at 18050 Tranquility Rd, Purcellville, VA 20132.

Rather quiet moment of the tour sitting on the patio enjoying self guided tasting of both a white flight of 2017 Gruner Vetliner, 2018 Gruner Veltliner, 2016 Chardonnary, 2017 Chardonnay Reserve, and a red flight of 2015 Blaufrankisch Reserve, 2015 Merlet Reserve, 2016 Malbex Reserve, 2015 Dornfelder created by winemaker, Max Bauer, which are unique, complex Austrian and German varieties. Of course, the wine is available by both the glass, and bottles on site, or to go!

Looking for a change of style be sure to explore the Otium Cellars option of Austrian and German varieties. And, enjoy a peaceful view of the beauty of the sky, and country side.

Exploring Virginia Wine Trails in celebration of October Virginia Wine Month, we decided to concentrate our tour of Loudoun County wineries.

The first of our adventures began the first weekend of October in which we explored a new vineyard: Williams Gap located at 35521 Sexton Farm Lane, Round Hill, VA 20141.

Very picturesque setting, Excellent selection of both whites, and reds produced by winemaker, Rob Cox, and staff of 2019 Vidal Blanc, 2019 White Blend, 2019 Petit Manseng, 2020 Rose, 2020 Mountain Valley Red, 2019 Cabernet Franc, 2020 Round Hill Red to name a few which we were able to enjoy!!

The tasting options were a self guided tour of a white wine flight, or red wine flight which contained three 2 oz. pours which cost $15 including tasting notes for the table. Or, the option to select an elevated experienced led by one of their educated Tasting Associates for $20. Wine was also available by the glass, or bottle as well lite fare boards & paninis from their kitchen.

Excellent presentation, and favorable wine selection!!

Definitely, looking forward to a revisit!!!

Gender is not a factor in the quality of craftsmanship of grape grower, and wine production in at least one, or two Virginia Wineries.

Delicious!!! New recipe of baked chicken and zucchini enhanced by a 2020 Rappahannock Cellars Rose. The perfect summertime dish with fresh tomatoes, and zucchini from our brother in laws Lancaster County garden. Thank you, Dale!! And, of course, the hard labor, and production of the Rose by the Rappahannock crew lead by Theo Smith, and owner, John Delamare. Cheers!!! Rappahannock Cellars
