My Sister's Place

My Sister's Place My Sister's Place of Gainesville is a shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness. All of the proceeds are poured back into our program.

We are restoring hope for single women and women with children in Northeast Georgia who are experiencing homelessness. My Sister’s Place provides temporary shelter in a nurturing home, nutritious meals, and other basic necessities to the residents we serve. While they are with us, we provide the tools and resources to help them to be in a better position when they leave than they were in when they

arrived. You can help support our shelter by shopping at My Sister's Resale Boutique. (www.facebook.com/MSRBgainesville )

One of the simplest ways to support the women and children at My Sister's Place is by donating through our Amazon Wishlist.

Right now, our greatest needs are:
• Twin-size sheet sets
• Comforters
• Pillows

These everyday essentials help us provide a safe, comfortable place for families rebuilding their lives.

We also have many other needed items on our wishlist. Every purchase, big or small, makes a difference and ships directly to our shelter.

Today, we celebrate and thank our Development Manager, Angie Brooks, as she begins a new chapter.

Over the past 2.5 years, Angie has made a tremendous impact on My Sister's Place through her dedication and heart for our mission. You may have met her through one of her many community presentations, events, tours, or outreach efforts, where she passionately shared the mission of My Sister’s Place and connected others to our cause.

Thank you, Angie! You will always be part of My Sister's Place. ❤️

A local donor recently changed the trajectory of one resident’s journey by donating a vehicle, giving her reliable transportation.

For many women entering our program, childcare and transportation are the two greatest barriers to rebuilding their lives. Getting to work, attending appointments, grocery shopping, and caring for children all become much more difficult without reliable transportation. Reliable transportation can mean keeping a job, accessing essential services, and having the freedom to pursue personal goals without the constant stress of finding a ride.

We are so grateful to the donor who generously provided this vehicle and made this opportunity possible.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, take a moment to remember the sacrifices made for our freedom and the veterans in our community. Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our country.
