HALL COUNTY MAINTAINS AAA CREDIT RATING BY FITCH RATINGS
Hall County Government’s AAA Issuer Default Rating (IDR) has been reaffirmed by Fitch Ratings, citing the County’s rating reflects its “financial resilience, ‘strongest’ long-term liability and population metrics, and very low unemployment.”
The AAA IDR rating is the highest possible rating and signifies Fitch’s expectation for the County to effectively manage any short-term spending pressures while maintaining its intergovernmental contract obligations.
“Hall County’s reaffirmed credit rating reflects the County’s longstanding commitment to fiscal responsibility and strategic financial management,” Hall County Board of Commissioners Chairman David Gibbs said. “This achievement speaks to the diligence of my fellow Board members, County leadership, and the staff who maintain a strong financial position while giving taxpaying citizens confidence that public funds are being managed wisely, efficiently, and with long-term stability in mind.”
According to the opinion released by Fitch, Hall County’s key rating drivers are supported by the County’s strong financial resilience, which is a combination of disciplined budgeting practices, healthy reserve levels, and effective management of long-term obligations.
The agency also noted Hall County’s economic and demographic strengths, including its growing population, very low unemployment rate relative to the nation, educational attainment, and strong median household incomes.
“Our focus is to set the standard for excellent local government services in the State of Georgia, and this reaffirmed credit rating reflects that commitment,”
Interim County Administrator John Gentry said. “It reflects the strong financial stewardship and strategic, visionary leadership of our Board of Commissioners, as well as the collective work being done across the County to serve our community responsibly.”
