Gainesville, Florida - The African American Accountability Alliance (4A’s PAC) convened its General Election Candidates and Constitutional Amendments Forum on Sunday, October 11th, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Florida. During this forum, members of the 4A’s PAC formally endorsed candidates for Statewide and Local Offices for the upcoming November 3rd General Election. Additionally, the 4A’s PAC is advising voters to Vote NO on Constitutional Amendments 1, 2, and 3.

African American Accountability Alliance (4As) and 4A’s PAC
Announce Statewide & Local Candidates and Constitutional Amendments Forum

Gainesville, Florida – The African American Accountability Alliance (4As) and the 4A’s PAC for the African American Accountability Alliance (4As) will host a Statewide and Local Candidates and Constitutional Amendments Forum on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, located at 630 NW 2nd Street, Gainesville, Florida.

All candidates seeking statewide and local office have been formally invited to participate in this important civic forum. The program will feature an Overview of Constitutional Amendments 1 & 2, presented by Timothy E. McLendon, Legal Skills Professor and Assistant Director of the Center for Governmental Responsibility at the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

A moderated panel debate will follow, featuring Former Senator Keith Perry and Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward, who will discuss Amendment 3 – Increased Homestead Exemption; Lower Cap on Increases in Non-Homestead Property Assessments.

Community members are encouraged to attend, engage, and hear directly from candidates seeking statewide and local office. Audience questions will be incorporated into the forum, ensuring an interactive and informative experience. Lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis. The Empowerment Saturday Early Voting Event, Saturday August 15, 2026 near the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office was sponsored by The African American Accountability Alliance (4As) in partnership with the Alachua County NAACP, Black Voters Matter, Community Impact Cooperation, 100 Black Men, Greater Gainesville, National Pan-Hellenic Council (Divine 9), National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Greater Gainesville, Florida Chapter, The Black Alignment Group, Florida For All and the City of Gainesville.
The Early Voting Results in Alachua County was as follows: Total votes cast: 23,625 or 14.33%; Mail in ballots 11,941; Early Voting 11,682. Early Voting at Supervisor of Elections Office on Saturday was 661 voters. A record for Early Voting for the week!
