ACSO Weekend Briefing
April 7th-9th, 2017
ACSO Team II Patrol was responsible for the policing of your county during this past weekend. During the course of the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, these Deputies were responsible for the handling of over 800 recorded calls for service. Below are some cases of note:
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Poss. Of a Firearm by Convicted Felon
On 4-9-17 at 1:19 a.m. multiple District II and III night shift deputies responded to Majestic Oaks in reference to a shooting that had just occurred. When Deputies arrived on scene, they located 3 female victims, un-injured, who stated that a known male subject just fired several shots at them. Victims and witnesses identified, JB JACKSON JR (Pictured Below), who has an extensive history with ACSO for weapons and violent crimes. Jackson is also a convicted felon. One victim stated that she made eye contact with Jackson who then pulled out a silver revolver and told her she was going to die tonight. At least five to six rounds were fired at the female and her two friends. The incident required the assistance of ACSO Detectives, Crime Scene and Victim Advocates. Probable Cause to issue an Arrest Warrant for Jackson was developed and upon approval by an Alachua County Judge, the Arrest Warrant was obtained with a $400,000.00 bond.
The following day, 04/10/2017, the Gainesville Police Department conducted a traffic stop where Jackson was located in the passenger seat of the vehicle and arrested without incident.
Armed Robbery
On 04/09/17 at 1:55 a.m., District I night shift deputies responded to the 4800 block of SE Hawthorne Road in reference to the report of an Armed Robbery to a person that had just occurred. The Victim advised responding Deputies that a black male wearing a black and gray hoodie with blue and white jeans and red tennis shoes approached him from behind with a firearm and demanded all of his money. The Victim complied before the suspect fled the area on foot.
Additional units from the Gainesville Police Department assisted with providing a perimeter and a K9 was used for tracking.
