Join us in supporting Touching Hearts at Home for the 2nd Annual Touching Hearts at Home Karaoke for a Cause, a fun-filled evening bringing our community together to raise awareness and support the Alzheimer’s Association!

We are honored to stand alongside Touching Hearts at Home in supporting a cause that impacts so many older adults, families, caregivers, and loved ones in our community. Together, we can make a difference!

Whether you're a shower singer, a seasoned performer, or simply someone who loves a great family- and pet-friendly event, there's a place for YOU!

🎨✨ Celebrating Creativity at the Senior Recreation Center! ✨🎨

After eight wonderful weeks of creativity, learning, and connection, our "Mosaics Outside the Lines" class wrapped up with a beautiful Art Show showcasing the incredible pieces created by our participants!

We loved seeing everyone’s unique designs come together and having the opportunity to celebrate all of the hard work that went into each piece. 💙

A huge thank you to UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine for bringing this wonderful program to the Senior Recreation Center and providing our seniors with such a fun and meaningful way to express their creativity.

Free Kitchen Caddies Available for Alachua County Residents:
Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Limited Supply “First come, first served”

Help divert food scraps from the landfill to composting

O-Town Compost will distribute free 2.5-gallon Kitchen Caddies to residents at Alachua County Rural Collection Centers on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This initiative encourages residents to divert food scraps from the landfill and convert them into nutrient-rich compost. Residents will receive a Kitchen Caddy along with compostable liners to collect food scraps at home. Materials can be dropped off in designated composting bins at participating Rural Collection Centers.

• North Central – 10714 N State Road 121
• Phifer – 11700 SE Hawthorne Road

This program is available exclusively to Alachua County residents and is supported by a Circular Economy Grant from Alachua County.

“Since January 2026, residents have diverted nearly 12,000 pounds of food scraps from the landfill,” said Richard Devereaux, Gainesville General Manager of O-Town Compost. “Participation continues to grow, and we’re encouraged by the increasing volume of food scraps being composted.”
