❤️ HELP US NOURISH OUR SENIORS ❤️

At the Alachua County Senior Recreation Center, we are seeing an increasing need among seniors in our community facing food insecurity. Our Emergency Food Pantry is currently in urgent need of non-perishable food donations to help support older adults in need.

We are looking for easy-to-prepare meal items such as:

🥣 Oatmeal, cereal & shelf-stable milk
🥫 Canned soups, vegetables, fruit, beans, tuna & chicken
🥜 Peanut butter, crackers, granola bars & easy snack items
🍝 Pasta, rice, ramen noodles, mac & cheese & shelf-stable meals
❤️ Senior-friendly foods that are easy to open and prepare

Please ensure all donated items are unopened and within their expiration date.

Every donation — big or small — helps provide comfort, nourishment, and dignity to seniors right here in our community.

In honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, the Alachua County Senior Recreation Center will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

Today, we remember and honor the heroes who served our nation with courage and sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

Wishing our community a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend as we reflect with gratitude and remembrance.

Our pool tables have officially been newly refelted and are looking better than ever! Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to enjoy a friendly game with friends, now is the perfect time to stop by and check them out.

💝 A Heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing team from the APD Florida (Agency for Persons with Disabilities) for their thoughtful and generous visit to our Alachua County Senior Recreation Center!

Their team brought beautifully hand-drawn and hand-painted gift boxes filled with toiletries, special goodies, and heartfelt surprises for our seniors. 🎨🎁 Every box was uniquely made with care, creativity, and kindness — and it truly brightened the day of so many in our community. ❤️

We are so grateful for community partners who go above and beyond to spread joy, compassion, and connection. Thank you for reminding our seniors just how loved and appreciated they are! 🫶✨
