HR is BUZZING into FY27! 🐝

The Alachua County HR family recently gathered at Cuscowilla in Micanopy for our HR Retreat! We prepared for FY27 by creating and discussing our goals, enjoying a presentation on honeybees by E&LR Manager Maureen Powell, learning about Adaptability with ODT Training Manager Elisha Cash, and discovering our True Colors with HR Manager Trish Kahler. 💙💚

We also put our teamwork to the test with a scavenger hunt around the Cuscowilla Lodge! 🔎🐝 Shout-out to the Buzz Girls—Charlene Moore, Priscila Candal, Tamana Ayoob, and Kaylah Kain—on their buzzworthy win! 🏆

Special thanks to HR Specialist Monteé Stowes for 3D-printing our trophies, Cassie Shipley-Matthews for putting together such a fabulous event, and our Queen Bee, Suzy Swain, for leading our hive! We’re feeling connected, inspired, and ready for FY27! 🐝✨

Today, the HR Family came together to celebrate our wonderful HR Manager, Wanda Santana, as she begins her next chapter in retirement. 💐

Wanda, we are so grateful for the years of leadership, inspiration, encouragement, and guidance you have given us. You have made a lasting impact on our department and on each of us individually. Your knowledge, support, and belief in your team have helped us grow both professionally and personally.

While we are so excited for you as you begin this new journey, we know there will be a big Wanda-sized space in HR that will be hard to fill. ❤️

We honor the first responders, service members, survivors, and all those who carried the weight of that day—and continue to do so.
