Yesterday, members of the MCFRS Honor Guard and command staff stood in solemn unity at the Maryland State Fire-Rescue Memorial—a place where courage, sacrifice, and service are forever remembered.

This year, we honored the addition of MFF Mark Fisher’s name to the memorial wall. His legacy now stands etched among Maryland’s bravest, a lasting reminder of a life dedicated to protecting others and answering the call without hesitation.
As we gathered in reflection, we were reminded that behind every name is a story of commitment, brotherhood, and selfless service. MFF Fisher’s sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire generations of firefighters to serve with honor, integrity, and bravery.

We stand with his family, friends, and all who knew him—today and always.

Never forgotten. Always honored.

🚑 MCFRS Quarterly EMS Awards Recognition 🚑

Over the past week, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service proudly recognized the extraordinary efforts of our personnel during some of the most challenging EMS incidents we face. These calls often involve cardiac arrest—situations where every second matters and teamwork makes the difference between life and loss.

We are incredibly proud to share that many of these incidents resulted in successful resuscitations and cardiac arrest survivals. These outcomes are a direct reflection of the dedication, skill, and unwavering commitment of our responders, as well as the strength of our community.

It was especially meaningful to celebrate alongside the very individuals whose lives were saved, along with the community members who played a vital role in the chain of survival. From early recognition and CPR to advanced life support, these moments highlight what can be achieved when our community and responders work together.

To all of our men and women who delivered exceptional care under pressure, and to our community partners who stepped up in critical moments—we thank you and commend you. Your actions exemplify the very best of public service.

👏 Let’s give them a well-deserved round of applause as we honor their outstanding service and dedication to our community.
