Native Village of Gakona The NVG is a federally recognized Tribe, and the Gakona Village Council is the governing body. Ggax Kuna’ (Gakona) means Rabbit River.

Our Mission is to exercise self-determination for the benefits of the Tribe to increase devices that will meet social, health, and community development needs with our community. The Native Village of Gakona invites you to an evening of good food, community updates, and important conversations about recycling and the Heinz Site Brownfield project.
