Today, on Administrative Professionals Day, we want to recognize and thank Melissa for everything she does for the Galena Police Department.

Melissa is a huge part of what keeps this office running smoothly every single day. She keeps the office moving, keeps the officers squared away, and helps make sure cases keep flowing to court like they should. A lot of the work she does happens behind the scenes, but it makes a major difference in everything we do.

Her hard work, organization, and dedication do not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful to have her on our team.

Thank you, Melissa, for all that you do for this department and this community.

Going to Downstream’s anniversary party? Awesome. Driving drunk after? Absolutely not.

We know the event will bring big crowds, good music, and plenty of alcohol.

So here’s your friendly reminder from Galena PD:

Buzzed, drunk, tipsy, “I’m probably okay”… still counts. Don’t drive.

A ride home costs a whole lot less than a DUI, a tow, a court date, and explaining yourself from the back seat of a patrol car.

Have fun at Downstream. Just make sure your plan includes a sober ride home.

Celebrate responsibly. Drive sober.

🚨 Animal Cruelty Investigation – Information Needed 🚨

The Galena Police Department is currently investigating the abandonment of multiple puppies within the city limits.

These animals were left without proper care and resources. We are working to determine who is responsible and ensure accountability.

If you have any information regarding who may have dumped these puppies, when it occurred, or any suspicious activity in the area, please contact the Galena Police Department or send us a private message. You may remain anonymous.

Abandoning animals is not only irresponsible, it is criminal. Our community does not tolerate this.

If you are struggling to care for animals, there are resources available. Reach out before making a decision that harms them.

Let’s take care of our town and the ones who can’t speak for themselves.
